ORCHARD VIEW HIGH SCHOOL: 28.00
The Packers traveled to Orchard View and took control of the game early and never let up beating the Cardinals 62-28 to improve to 2-4 on the season. Fremont took the opening possession right down the field for a Karter Frens 1 yard touchdown. Then the Packers recovered an onside kick and scored 2 minutes later to extend their lead to 12-0. OV responded with a touchdown of their own through the air to bring the scoring in the 1st quarter to an end and 12-6 Fremont lead. Frens scored again from 23 yards out early in the 2nd quarter to extend the lead to 18-6. The Cardinals responded quickly with a touchdown pass to bring the score to 18-12, but that was as close as they got the rest of the night. Talen-Reichert Slater scored two rushing touchdowns both from a yard out and a 2 point conversion to bring the halftime score to 32-12. Frens scored again early in the 3rd from 1 yard out and added the 2 point conversion to extend the lead to 40-12. On the next Fremont possession Frens had an impressive 44 yard touchdown run and Khai Noordyk 2 point try to push the lead to 48-12 and the end of the 3rd. Noordyk scored from 5 yards out and Reichert-Slater found Cuyler Cook-Hansen for the 2 point try to move the lead to 56-12. OV was able to answer back with long touchdown run, but Noordyk took the handoff a minute later and scored on an impressive 54 yard run to close out the Packer scoring and extend the lead to 62-20. The Cardinals added one more score to bring the final to 62-28. The Packers had 389 yards on the ground, with Frens accounting for 223 yards on 26 attempts and 5 touchdowns. Noordyk added 118 on 15 carries and 2 touchdowns. Brayden Crosley lead the passing game 4 for 9 for 44 yards. Tritan Corrigan had 2 receptions for 35 yards. Leading the defensive side of the ball was Asa Barnhard and Trentyn Corley both with 7 tackles. Noah Hansen and Jack Vandenberg both had 4 tackles and a sack. Corrigan also had 2 interceptions and Barnhard also had 1 interception. The Packers travel to Montague for another WMC conference showdown.
