Track and Field Regionals

The boys finished 6^th with 57 points.

We competed well, with scoring in a variety of events.

PRs went to Nathan Burns in the Discus and Jacob Burns in the 200 dash.

Athletes placing in the top 8 were all region.  Those honors went to:

We had great weather for today's competition.  The boy's placed 2^nd with 123.25 points to Whitehall's 160.5.  This also secured a 2^nd place finish in the conference standings.

WMC 3 at Manistee

A long trip but the athletes performed well.  We had warm, wind, cold, calm, rain, and wind again.  A Michigan spring.  The boys beat Manistee and lost to Whitehall.

Rich Tompkins Packer Relays

On a windy Friday night the boys won the 2^nd Rich Tompkins Packer Relays.  8 teams participated in the meet.  Fremont scored 113 points, just ahead of Sparta's 100.  There were several relays and a few open events.  Field events were scored as relays adding the best mark for each of the 3 relay members.  Field relay placings can be found below.

A great meet at home against a strong Ludington team.  The boys won 80-57.  Headlining the meet was senior Daniel Romeros school record of 14.96 in the 110 high hurdles.  The old record was held by Ben Wolfsen from the early 90s.  All the boys out-performed the meet predictions to win a meet that I though could go either way.

The boys had a great meet in a see saw battle with Berrien Springs.  After several lead changes throughout the meet we ended up 2^nd with 117 points to Berrien Springs 120.  I was really proud of the way the boys competed.  It was cool and very windy.  It was also fun to compete with the girls team on co-ed relays with each boys and girls teams getting the relay points.  The top 3 relay teams and top 6 individuals earn medals.

We had a great first outdoor meet.  I couldn't be happier with the athletes performance and attitude.  As with any first meet we had a lot of season records.  Three impressive Prs were Daniel Romero in the 110 hurdles, 15.24,  Sean Pettis in the 400, 52.45, and Owen Hertel in the Shot Put, 38'3.5".

Laker Challenge

We had a good first meet at the Grand Valley Laker Challenge, run on Grand Valleys indoor 300 m track. We had lot of first time track athletes competed and they did so with a smile on their face, trying new events that they had not had much time to get used to. The boys also showed great support for their teammates, lining the track and cheering them on during their races. Daniel Romero placed fifth in the 60 m high hurdles earning a medal. Sean Pettis was the meet champion in the 1600 m run. He ran a great tactical race staying on the leaders shoulder until one lap to go where he turned on the pace to win going away. Trentyn Corley stepped up in the 4 x 300 taking the place of an ill teammate to help the team win their heat.
