Girls JV Volleyball vs. Multiple Opponents

The lady JV Packers traveled to Sparta to battle with the Spartans. Leading the Pack this evening was Ashlyn Hoppa and Laney Sipos with 5 kills a piece, followed by Maya Curtice with 4 kills. Josie Visser had 3 kills, Audrey Christiansen had 2 kills and Alexis LaCount had 2 kills. Hoppa led the serving attack with 4 aces, while Curtice served up 3 aces of her own. Curtice also had 11 assists on the evening. Defensively, the Pack was led by Syd Dunbar with 20 receptions and 10 digs, Curtice and Hoppa with 7 digs each, Sipos with 5 digs and LaCount and Addie Shields with 4 digs apiece. Sipos also had 3 blocks. Overall, a great effort was on display by the Pack as they pulled together as a team for the win. Nice job ladies!

The lady JV packers defeated Chippewa Hills JV squad this evening 2-1. Leading the attack was Alexis LaCount with 4 kills and Laney Sipos with 4 kills. Sipos had 5 Aces on 14 attempts. Marcy Tanner also had 5 Aces, 4 of which were in a row! Syd Dunbar added in another 4 Aces on 13 attempts. Maya Curtice set up with offense with 9 assists, and Tanner added 4 assists. Defensively, the Pack was led by Dunbar with 6 digs and Curtice with 6 digs. Bella Ross, Alexis LaCount, Laney Sipos, and Marcy Tanner each chipped in 3 digs apiece. Overall, a great team effort was on display this evening. The Pack travel to Sparta on October 30th for their last contest of the season.

The lady JV Packers traveled to Tri County High School for a quad this evening. They defeated Ludington and host school Tri County, but lost to Kent City. Leading the Pack was Alexis LaCount with 13 kills and 5 Aces, Marcy Tanner with 13 kills and 5 Aces, Laney Sipos with 8 kills and 2 Aces, Josie Visser with 6 kills, Ashlyn Hoppa with 5 kills and 1 Ace. Maya Curtice and Marcy Tanner did a great job setting up the attackers with 28 and 14 assists respectively. Curtice also chipped in 3 Aces on 36 serving attempts. Defensively, the Pack was led by Syd Dunbar with 15 digs, Alexis LaCount with 8 digs, Maya Curtice with 7 digs, and Bella Ross with 6 digs. Overall, the lady packers had quite a night of great volleyball. The Pack travel to Chippewa Hills for a matchup on Tuesday.

The lady JV Packers traveled to Grand Haven High School for tournament action today. The faced a tough competition all day against Hudsonville, Traverse City West, and Jenison in pool play. They faced host school Grand Haven in bracket play. Leading the charge for the Packers was Alexis LaCount with 8 kills, Marcy Tanner with 7 kills, and Laney Sipos with 6 kills on the day. Serving was led by Tanner and Maya Curtice with 4 aces a piece. Defensively, Syd Dunbar had 10 digs, Bella Ross had 5 digs, and Curtice had 4 digs. The Pack head to Tri County for a Quad on Monday.

The lady JV Packers faced the Vikings from Tri County this evening and defeated them 2-1 in 3 sets. Leading the attack was Alexis LaCount with 7 kills and 3 Aces, Marcy Tanner with 7 kills and 1 Ace and Laney Sipos with 5 kills on the evening. Maya Curtice had 7 assists and 10 service points, while Marcy Tanner chipped in 6 assists and 5 service points. Defensively, Syd Dunbar led the team with 4 digs and 4 service receptions, Ashlyn Hoppa and Marcy Tanner each had 3 digs, while Bella Ross, Alexis LaCount, Addie Shields, Laney Sipos and Audrey Christensen each added 2 digs apiece. Overall, a great effort was on display by the JV squad. The play at Grand Haven this Saturday for their last tournament of the season. Go Pack!

The lady JV Packer volleyball team played in a tournament at West Michigan Christian school today. They faced Holton, Allendale, Spring Lake, and host school WMC. The Pack defeated Holton in two sets 25-23, 25-19 and lost to WMC, Allendale and in bracket play lost to Spring Lake. Laney Sipos and Alexis LaCount led all attackers with 11 kills and 7 kills respectively. Maya Curtice and Marcy Tanner led all servers with 6 Aces apiece while Syd Dunbar and Alexis LaCount each had 5 Aces. Defensively, Dunbar had 14 digs, and Bella Ross had 5 digs. The Pack play their last home contest on Tuesday against Tri County.

The JV lady Packers lost to Grant 1 - 2 this evening. Leading the Pack was Alexis LaCount and Marcy Tanner with 4 kills each, followed by Laney Sipos with 2 kills. Maya Curtice and Tanner each helped set up the offense with 3 assists apiece. Tanner also led all servers with 4 Aces, while LaCount added 3 Aces, and Ashlyn Hoppa and Syd Dunbar chipped in 2 Aces apiece. Defense was led by Dunbar with 5 digs and 10 receptions, followed by Tanner with 4 digs and 5 receptions. Overall, a great effort was on display as the Pack battled with pride. The Pack travel to West Michigan Christian on Saturday for a tournament. Go Pack!

The lady JV packers defeated the lions of Newaygo in 3 straight sets. The Pack got the offense running quickly with precise serving procuring 13 aces on the evening. Alexis LaCount, Laney Sipos and Ashlyn Hoppa each had 3 aces on the night. Sipos led the attacking offense with 6 kills, followed by Marcy Tanner with 4 kills and Audrey Christensen with 3 kills. Defensively, Syd Dunbar and Alexis LaCount led the team with 5 digs each followed by Maya Curtice with 3 digs. This match was yet another great display of team work this evening. The Pack play Grant next Tuesday at Grant. Go Pack!

The lady Packers JV volleyball team won against Sparta, but lost to Whitehall and Mona Shores in bracket play. The Pack was led by Alexis LaCount with 10 kills and 6 Aces on the day. Maya Curtice had 10 assists. Josie Visser added 3 blocks. The Pack faced tough competition and learned a lot today. We will be back in action at home on Tuesday, October 1st against Newaygo.

The lady Packers JV volleyball team competed against Ludington and Shelby this evening winning both contests. Leading the Pack against Ludington was Marcy Tanner with 6 kills, 3 assists and 1 Ace. Alexis LaCount added 3 kills and 2 Aces. Maya Curtice chipped in 3 Aces, 4 Asssits and 1 kill. Defensively the Pack was led by Syd Dunbar with 10 digs and Bella Ross with 4 digs. Against Shelby, the Pack went on a serving frenzy having 10 Aces, 35 serves overall. Laney Sipos led the serving attack with 6 Aces adding 2 kills. Defensively, the Pack was led by Syd Dunbar with 6 digs. Overall, great effort by the team to add a couple wins to their total.

The lady packers lost their home match with Central Montcalm this evening in a close contest, 1-2. The offense began with 17 Aces on the evening led by Maya Curtice (5) and Alexis LaCount (4). Laney Sipos led all attackers with 6 kills followed by Josie Visser with 3 kills. Defensively, Syd Dunbar led the team with 4 digs and 13 receptions, followed by Bella Ross with 3 digs and 8 receptions. The Pack play Thursday at Shelby.

The lady JV packers played in the Sparta tournament today. They went 2-1-2 on the day beating the host school Sparta and Tri County in bracket play. They tied Tri County and Hastings during pool play and losing to Whitehall in bracket play. The team had 50 Aces on the day, led by Alexis LaCount and Bella Ross with 9 each. On the attack, Laney Sipos led the team with 15 kills, with Josie Visser (10) Marcy Tanner and Alexis LaCount with 9 each. Assist leaders were Maya Curtice with 21 and Marcy Tanner with 13. Defensively, the pack was led by Syd Dunbar with 18 digs. The Pack play at home on Tuesday, September 24 agains Central Montcalm at 5:30 pm.

The girls JV lady Packers had another stellar outing against the Big Rapids Cardinals. Serving was key for the Packers led by Maya Soueidan with 3 Aces, Alexis LaCount with 5 Aces and Marci Tanner with 5 Aces. Ashlyn Hoppa led the offensive attack with 6 kills. Defensively, Addie Shields and Bella Ross had 6 digs apiece. An overall great effort was on display from the lady Packers. The JV have an 11-4 record to date.

The JV Lady Packers defeated the Coyotes from Reed City in 3 sets. Leading the Packers in serving was Syd Dunbar with 4 Aces on 12 serves with no errors. Following suit was Maya Soueidan with 4 Aces on 9 serves and no errors. Our offense was led by Addie Shields with 3 kills, Alexis LaCount with 2 kills and Marcy Tanner with 2 kills. Defensively, the Packers were led by Dunbar with 7 digs, Bella Ross with 4 digs, and Shields with 3 digs. The JV Packers play again on Tuesday, September 17, at Big Rapids.

The JV lady packers had quite the day at the Morley Stanwood JV volleyball tournament. The won second place losing to only Greenville on the day. Victories over Hart, Tri County, Big Rapids and host school Morley Stanwood secured the second place spot. Leading the Pack in serving on the day include Alexis LaCount, Maya Soueidan, Marcy Tanner, Ashlyn Hoppa, Laney Sipos, and Syd Dunbar. Soueidan led the team in assists with 23. Attacking leaders included LaCount (14), Addie Shields (9), Sipos (7), Tanner (11), Hoppa (6) and Josie Visser (9). Passing was led by Dunbar, Bella Ross and Audrey Christensen. The JV packers play their first league game on Tuesday, September 10 at home at 5:30 pm. Hope to see you there. Go Pack!

The JV lady packers defeated the Ravenna Bulldogs in 3 straight sets this evening. Leading the attack was Marcy Tanner with 5 kills with Alexis LaCount, Laney Sipos, Ashlyn Hoppa, and Addie Shields with 3 kills each. Maya aided with 6 assists and Tanner put up 5 assists as well. Stellar serving by Sipos, LaCount and Hoppa helped spark the offense. Defensively, Syd Dunbar and Bella Ross led the defense with 4 and 5 digs each with 10 and 8 receptions a piece. Another great display of teamwork and grit to get the win. The JV Packers head to Morley Stanwood for their next competition in a tournament.
