Fremont Wrestling Wins the First Round at Team Districts and Loses 35-36 in District Finals

Fremont Wrestling traveled to Fruitport on Wednesday for Team Districts. The Packers defeated the Muskegon Big Reds by a score of 60-21 in the semi-finals match. Winning for Fremont were: Cole Lowery, Kolten Belmarez, Trey Myers, Michael Romero, Chance Crawford, Seth Zerlaut, Chase Montague, Kashton Atwood, Henrik Quist and Tee Ward. 

The District Finals match was a battle between the two teams and Fruitport edged the Packers by 1 point, winning 36-35.  Each team won 7 of the 14 weight classes and it came down to bonus points scored in major decisions, tech falls and pins to give the advantage to the Trojans. Victors for the Packers were Seth Zerlaut, Killian Prewitt, Joe Campbell, Braulio Gomez, Tee Ward, Trey Myers, and Michael Romero.

The Packers finished the season with an overall team dual record of 23-9. Individual post-season matches continue this weekend.
