Fremont Wrestling Finished Runner-up at the Kent City Kick-off Classic Invitational on Saturday.

The Packers finished in second place overall at the eight team tournament.Fremont was undefeated in their pool. They defeated East Grand Rapids 69-9, Belding 66-12 and Grand Rapids Catholic Central 66-18.  In the championship round, the Packers first easily handled Kent City 56-14.  They then faced the #6 ranked in Division I Rockford Rams in the finals. There were some hard-fought matches and the Packers lost 15-52.  They now have a record of 6-1 for the season.

Wrestlers that were 5-0 were freshman, Alex Gleason (135) and Junior, Cody Routley (112).

Other medalists were: RJ Thome (103), Gage Breuker (125), Matthew Halasinski (145), Jager Kibart (152), Trey Breuker (160 and 171), Chase Knudsen (171), Michael Romero (189), Kyler Kolk (189 and 215), and Cody Visscher (215 and 285).

Other Packers that had victories were: Henrik Quist (103), Eli Beasley (119), Braulio Gomez (125), Wei Chen (130), Gage Montague (140), Matt Long (145), Zachary Anderson (171), Caden Christoffersen (189), Briar Hambrock (285), and Colby Wright (285).

They start their CSAA Gold Conference competition on Wednesday when they travel to Central Montcalm.
