Fremont 65 Newaygo 48

We continue to push our 'Next Man Up' mentality as we lost another starter to quarantine on Tuesday.  Our Game Monday against Grant was the only day this year we have had every player.  Jordan McDonald was our leading man in the middle and it would be interesting how we responded without him against Newaygo's 6'6 center.  Payton Mansfield gave us the boost we needed with 11 first half points, a career high 17 points total and 10 rebounds.  We would not have led at halftime without the play of Payton.  This game was close in the first half with us leading 18-14 after the first quarter and 35-32 at halftime.  We came out with renewed energy in the 3rd and extended the lead to 10 early and it remained there or higher the rest of the game. Braiden McDonald led us in points with 21 points and 11 rebounds.   Joey DeLong player very well with 9 points.  Joshua Zerfas had 5 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists, and both Lane Converse and Chase Rasmussen had 5 points.  The win was our 8th straight and puts us at 9-2 overall and 8-1 in conference.  We play at home on Friday against Tri-County and it will be our Mid-Winter game.
