Fremont opened up District Play vs Reed City tonight at Newaygo High School  Packers jumped out to a 20-14 lead after 1, then extended that lead to 36-26 at the half.  Fremont came out and played well defensively and were able to get the lead to 54-34 after 3.  Reed City fought back and was able to to cut the lead to 11, but got no closer.  Fremont won 70-59
 
Redick Powell had 20 Points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals, Mossen Green had 11 Points 8 rebounds  and 4 assists.  Brayden Crosley had 10 points and 5 assists.  Carter Sherman 9 points, 6 rebounds

Packers will play Ludington on Wednesday in the District Semi Final at 5:30pm in Newaygo.

Lose: 42 - 56

Fremont hosted Manistee on Senior Night.  Manistee jumped out to a 20-4 lead after 1 and 28-9 lead at the half.  The Packers came back in the second half, cutting the lead to 37-23 headed into the fourth.  Fremont was able to get the game to within in 6 in the fourth and had a three rattle out late in the fourth that would of cut the lead to three.  The Packers had to foul down late and Manistee did a great job going 13 for 15 from the Free Throw Line to ice the game.  

Fremont was led by Mossen Green with 10 points, Redick Powell, and Carter Sherman each had 7.  

The Packers celebrated Seniors Colson Buitendorp, Cuyler Cook Hansen, Joey Mansfield, Khai Noordyk, Redick Powell, Carter Sherman, and Blake Zerlaut before the game.  

Fremont will play Reed City on Monday, in the district opener at Newaygo at 5:30pm.

Boys Varsity Basketball vs. Whitehall Senior High School

Lose: 41 - 81

Fremont traveled to Whitehall tonight for a WMC conference game.  Whitehall couldn't miss in the first quarter to make it 30-8 and 43-19 at the half.  Fremont couldn't get any closer in the second half as Whitehall closed it out 81-41.

Fremont was led by Logan McLain with 10 Points, 5 rebounds.  Gabe Hulst hit for 9 points and 6 rebounds.  

The Packers will close out the season at home vs Manistee on Friday February 21st for Senior Night and Mid-Winter. 

 

 

Boys Varsity Basketball vs. Oakridge High School

Win: 61 - 52

Fremont was at Oakridge tonight in a WMC Matchup.  Oakridge jumped out to a 21-16 lead after 1, but it was tied 31-31 at the half.  Both teams traded buckets back and forth to make it 42-42 after 3 quarters.  Again the teams traded buckets, until 3 minutes to go when Oakridge hit some shots after Fremont misses and Oakridge went 6-6 from the line down the stretch.  

Fremont was led by Carter Sherman with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 2 steals.   Redick Powell had 10 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists.  Breckin Kooistra had 7 points, 7 rebounds for the Packers.  

Fremont travels to Whitehall on Friday for another WMC match up.  

Boys Varsity Basketball vs. Mason County Central High School

Win: 63 - 56

Fremont traveled for a crossover game to Mason County Central tonight.  Fremont was down 18-13 after 1.  Packers were able to knock some shots down to take a 31-25 lead at the half.  Fremont extended that lead to  10 after 3, up 49-39 and closed it out and won 63-56.  

Fremont was led by Redick Powell with 24 points , 5 rebounds, 5 steals and 3 assists.  Mossen Green had 15 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists.  Gabe Hulst had 8 points , 4 rebounds.  Brayden Crosley chipped in 4 points, but had 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 steals.  Logan McLain had 7 blocks and 7 rebounds.

Packers play at Oakridge on Tuesday.  

 

Boys Varsity Basketball vs. Orchard View High School

Lose: 55 - 68

Fremont traveled to Orchard View for a WMC Contest.  Packers were strong out fo the gate for a 16-8 lead. Orchard View cut the lead to three at the half 30-27.  OV carried that momentum into the second half and was able to pull away in the fourth 68-55.  

Packers were led by Carter Sherman's 16 points, 8 Rebounds, and 4 steals.  Mossen Green with 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. Brayden Crosley had 8 points, 3 assists, and 3 steals.  Logan McLain chipped in 4 points to go along with 9 blocks, and 5 rebounds.  

Fremont plays at Mason County Central on Saturday.   

Boys Varsity Basketball vs. Western Michigan Christian High School

Win: 55 - 51

Fremont hosted Western Michigan Christian tonight in a non league matchup.  Fremont and WMC were tied after 1, 11-11.  Fremont was able to pull ahead 26-15 at the half.  WMC was able to make a run in the 3rd and pulled it to 38-34 after 3 and it was tied 45-45 after regulation.  Packers were able to get two huge three's from Carter Sherman in the extra frame and seal it with Free Throws down the stretch.  Packers won it 55-51.  

Fremont was led by Mossen Green with 18 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals.  Redick Powell 17 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals.  Brayden Crosley had 4 points, 7 assists, and 4 steals.  Carter Sherman and Noah Hansen chipped in 6 points and Logan McClain had 7 rebounds and 5 blocks.  

Fremont will play a WMC Matchup at OV on Friday.  

Boys Varsity Basketball vs. Grant High School

Lose: 36 - 63

Fremont played Grant in Newaygo for the County Classic.  Grant jumped up on top and led 20-7 after 1, and extended their lead to 37-11 after a dismal 2nd quarter for Fremont.  Fremont fought back and won the third quarter to trim the lead to 46-24.  Fremont got it to within 16, but couldn't get it any closer as they lost 63-36.  

Mossen Green had 9 for Fremont,  Brayden Crosley had 6, Cuyler Cook Hansen chipped in 5.  

Fremont will host WMC on Wednesday for a non league matchup. 

Boys Varsity Basketball vs. Montague High School

Win: 70 - 30

Fremont traveled to Montague tonight for a WMC Matchup.  Packers started out strong right out of the gate and were up 22-9 after 1.  Fremont was able to extend and double up Montague 38-19 at the half.  Packers came out and won the third quarter 17-3 and led 55-19 going into the final stage.  Packers were able to win the 4th quarter as well and take the game 70-30.

Fremont was led by Redick Powell with 14 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals.   Mossen Green had 13 points, 6 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 assists.  Gabe Hulst had 9 points, 5 assists and 3 steals.  Brayden Crosely had 3 points, 7 steals, 5 assists and 3 rebounds.  Logan McLain pulled down 10 boards with 7 blocks, Carter Sherman had 8 rebounds and Breckin Kooistra 6 rebounds.   Blake Zerlaut chipped in 7 points for the Packers.

 

Fremont plays tomorrow vs Grant in the Newaygo County Showcase at Newaygo High School

Win: 85 - 56

Fremont hosted Ludington tonight in a WMC matchup.  Ludington led after one, 18-8 and extended it to 44-26 at the half.  Fremont got within 12 in the third but that was as close as they would get.  Ludington pulled away late in the third and fourth to take it 85-56.  

Fremont was led by Mossen Green with 10, Carter Sherman with 10, and Logan McLain with 10.  

Fremont will be at Montague for a girls/boys varsity double header on Friday.  

Boys Varsity Basketball vs. Manistee High School

Lose: 35.00 - 55.00

Fremont traveled to Manistee on Friday night for a league matchup.  The Packers got off to a slow start and couldn't get anything going in the first half, as they were down 19-13 at halftime.  After the half, the Packers continued to struggle in the third and fourth quarters which led to a 55-35 loss.

Fremont was led by Mossen Green with 7 and Noah Hansen with 6.

They play at Mason County Central on Tuesday

Win: 57.00 - 51.00

Fremont hosted Muskegon Heights tonight in a non league matchup.  Packers jumped out to a quick 9-0 lead behind Mossen Green's 7 first quarter points, and led 11-9 after 1.  Muskegon Heights took a 18-16 lead at the half.  Both teams traded runs in the second half and were tied with .05 seconds to go.  A missed dunk by the Heights sent it into Overtime.  Both teams traded buckets back and forth in Overtime which then led to double OT.  Fremont jumped out to a 6 point lead and the Heights hit a big three to cut it to three, but that was as close as it got.  Fremont pulled away late in the second overtime to secure the win.  

Fremont was led by Mossen Green with 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists.  Redick Powell had 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals.  Brayden Crosley had 9 points, 5 boards, 3 assists, and 3 steals.  Carter Sherman had a massive night on the boards with 7 points and 14 rebounds.  Logan McLain had 6 rebounds and 4 blocks, and Noah Hansen finished with 6 rebounds.  

Fremont plays at Manistee on Friday in a WMC Matchup.  

Boys Varsity Basketball vs. Big Rapids High School

Lose: 43.00 - 50.00

Fremont hosted Big Rapids tonight in a non-conference game.  Big Rapids got out to a 10-0 lead and led 17-13 after 1.  Low scoring 2nd quarter by both teams, as Big Rapids extended the lead to 22-17 at the half.  Fremont edged out Big Rapids in the third to be down 36-32 headed into the final frame.  Packers couldn't get any closer as they lost 50-43.  

Fremont was led by Redick Powell with 17 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 assists.  Mossen Green had 10 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals.  Brayden Crosley had 4 points, 5 assists, 5 steals, and 5 rebounds.  McClain and Sherman each ripped down 6 rebounds.  

Fremont will play tomorrow night at Muskegon Heights.  

Boys Varsity Basketball vs. Whitehall Senior High School

Fremont hosted Whitehall tonight in a WMC matchup.  The Vikings continue to be unbeaten in league play as they got off to a hot start and led 27 to 5 after 1 quarter and 46 to 11 at the half.  Fremont was much more competitive in the second half, winning the 4th quarter 12 to 10.  Whitehall won 74-33.  

Fremont was led by Brayden Crosley with 10 points and Blake Zerlaut with 5 points.  Fremont will host Big Rapids on Monday in a non league match up.  

 

 

Boys Varsity Basketball vs. Kent City High School

Fremont traveled to Kent City tonight.  Packers were up 13-7 after 1 and tied at the half 20-20.  Packers were down 46-40 after 3.  Kent City controlled the offensive glass which doomed Fremont in the end as they dropped the contest 60-48.  

Fremont was led by Logan McClain with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 7 blocks.  Brayden Crosley had 8 points, 4 assists and a couple steals, Mossen Green had 8 points, 5 rebounds and 2 steals, and Redick Powell had 8 points, 4 rebounds and 4 steals. 

Fremont will host Whitehall on Friday for a WMC matchup.

Packers hosted Orchard View tonight in a WMC contest.  OV had a 1 point lead after 1 and 3 point lead at the half.   OV extend the lead to 7 after three and was able to match the Packer pressure in the fourth to win 61-42.   Fremont struggled to get any shots to fall tonight, as they shot 27% from the floor and went 1-16 from three.  

Fremont was led by Brayden Crosley with 13 points, 3 assists and 5 steals.  Redick Powell had 8 points 4 rebounds and 2 steals.  Mossen Green had 7 points, 6 rebounds and Noah Hansen had 5 points, 8 rebounds.  Fremont plays at Kent City on Tuesday in a non-league match up.

Fremont hosted Montague tonight in a WMC Matchup.  Montague led after the 1st 12-9.  Fremont outscored the Cats 25-11 in the second to take the lead 34-23.  Fremont was able to extend their lead to 50-32 after 3 and won 71-40.  

Fremont was led by Redick Powell with 27 points, 4 boards, and 3 steals.  Noah Hansen returned tonight for 11 points and 3 rebounds.  Mossen Green had a solid game with 8 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals.  Brayden Crosley had 5 points, and 4 assists with 3 steals.  Carter Sherman had 6 points, 7 rebounds and Logan McLain had 5 rebounds and 4 blocks.  

Packers return to action on January 2nd against OV.

Fremont hosted Oakridge tonight in WMC action.  Oakridge started out hot and had a 19-10 lead.  The Packers came back in the 2nd, outscoring the Eagles 21-10 to be down 32-31 at the half.  Oakridge led the third with a quick 9 point spurt to go up 10 early, and couldn't miss from three to close out the quarter.  Oakridge came out on top 80-56.  

Fremont was led by Redick Powell with 22 points and 5 rebounds.   Mossen Green had 10 points  and 6 rebounds, Brayden Crosley finished with 6 Points and 4 assists.  Logan McLain had 6 points and 5 boards and Carter Sherman chipped in 5 points, 3 steals, and 7 boards for the Packers.  

Packers host Montague on Friday night in another WMC showdown.

The Packers hosted Hart tonight in non league action.  Hart jumped out to a 19-11 and  led 32-19 at the half.  The Packers showed lots of improvement just had to many spurts of mistakes that cost the Packers momentum.  Hart won the contest 74-50.  Packers were led by Redick Powell with 13 points and Brayden Crosley with 8 points.  Fremont hosts Oakridge in a WMC showdown on Tuesday.   

Boys Varsity Basketball vs. North Muskegon High School

Lose: 42.00 - 67.00

Fremont hosted undefeated North Muskegon tonight.  It was tied after one quarter 12-12.  North Muskegon went up 31-24 at the break as the Packers couldn't find a bucket for 4 minutes of play to start the 2nd.  North Muskegon came out hot and had a huge third quarter to put the game away 51-26 and the final score of 67-42.  Fremont hosts Hart on Friday night. 

Packers were lea by Joey Mansfield's 4 triples for 12 points, Mossen Green Chipped in 9 points, 4 assists and 3 rebounds.  Redick Powell had 6 points 5 rebounds and 2 assists.  Carter Sherman had 2 points and 8 boards and Brayden Crosley had 2 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists.

Fremont traveled to Sparta for a non-league match up, the Packers struggled from the start against a very experienced Sparta team.  Sparta went on a long run to end the first quarter to put them up 32-14 and 49-25 at the half.  They then cruised to a 94-49 victory.  Redick Powell and Gabe Hulst each scored 13 Points to lead the Packers.

Fremont traveled to Ludington to open up WMC play.  Ludington got off to a hot start and and continued to build the lead to be up 26-12 after 1.  Ludington then went into the locker room up 54-25 at the half.  The final was 82-47, Fremont was led by Mossen Green and Joey Mansfield with 9 points, Redick Powell with 8 points, and Brayden Crosley and Logan McClain chipped in 5 a piece.  Packers travels to Sparta on Friday.

Packers hosted the Shelby Tigers in the season opener for both teams.  Packers jumped out to an early 9-0 lead.  The Packers were up 14-6 after one and 24-11 at the half, as both teams struggled to get going offensively.  Shelby went on a quick run to start the 3rd, but the Packers were able to extend their lead to 37-18 after 3.  Packers won the 4th quarter to a final of 50-25.   Packers were led by Redick Powell with 9 points, 5 boards, 2 steals. Brayden Crosley with 6 points, 5 steals and 5 assists.  Mossen Green had 7 points, 4 steals, Blake Zerlaut with 7 points, 5 rebounds and a block.  Carter Sherman and Breckin Kooistra each had 7 rebounds.   Fremont travels to Ludington next Tuesday.
