In a challenging matchup, the Fremont Varsity Packers struggled to match the pace of the Whitehall Varsity Vikings, ultimately succumbing to a decisive 10-0 defeat on Wednesday.
Paxton Borgman took the brunt of the loss for Fremont, enduring a demanding five innings on the mound. Despite his efforts, Borgman conceded 10 runs, with five of them deemed earned, on nine hits. While managing to secure three strikeouts, Borgman also grappled with control, issuing four walks.
Amongst the Fremont ranks, it was Easton Herman who emerged as a lone beacon of offensive prowess, tallying one hit in his solitary at-bat.
Undeterred by the setback, Fremont now sets its sights on redemption, eagerly anticipating a chance to overturn the result in their upcoming rematch against Whitehall on Wednesday night.
