Girls JV Volleyball vs. Reed City High School

The Lady JV Packers traveled North to battle the Reed City coyotes for their last conference match.  The Pack defeated the coyotes in straight sets; 25-14, 25-20, 15-7. Offensively, the Pack had 15 Aces and 17 kills during the contest.  Ace leaders include: Kendall Barnhart 6, Lily VandenBerg 4, Kaiya Flores 2, Sage Vandenberg 1, Marcy Tanner 1, and Syd Moon 1.  Attack leaders were Sage Vandenberg with 6 kills, Tanner 5 kills, Flores 2 kills, Bella Ross, Kendall Barnhart Addie Shields and Maddie Rottman with 1 kill apiece.  Lily VandenBerg also had 13 assists. Defensively, the Pack had 36 digs and 3 block kills.  Dig leaders include Shields 9, Tanner and Moon 6 each, Barnhart with 5, Vandenberg and VandenBerg with 3 each, Ross 2, Flores and Rottman with 1 dig apiece.  Vandenberg also chipped in 2 block kills while Flores had a block kill too. On the season, the JV Packers record was 12 - 8.  Congratulations on a successful season ladies.  Thank you, Coach B.

The Lady JV Packers travelled to North Muskegon Saturday to battle Holland Christian, Grandville, and host school North Muskegon.  The Pack battled diligently winning against the Norsemen while falling to Holland Christian and Grandville. Offensively, the Pack had 31 Aces and 61 kills.  Defensively, they had 36 digs and 13 blocks on the morning. Ace leaders include Addie Shields 8, Marcy Tanner 7, Kendall Barnhart and Syd Moon each with 5, Lily Vandenberg with 4, and Sage Vandenberg with 2.  Lily Vandenberg also had 42 assists. Kill leaders include Vandenberg 19, Tanner 14, Kaiya Flores 10, Vandenberg 6, Barnhart 5, Maddie Rottman 4, Shields 2, Bella Ross 1, Syd Moon 1. Defensive leaders include Shields with 11 digs, Ross 4 digs, Moon 3 digs, Vandenberg 5, and Tanner with 6 digs.  Blocks were led by Vandenberg with 4, Flores 2, Rottman 2, Tanner 3, Barnhart 1 and Vandenberg 1. The Pack wrap up their season on Tuesday evening as they travel to Coyote country to play Reed City.

The Lady JV Packers hosted the Warriors from Chippewa Hills during their last home contest of the season.  The Pack defended their home court really well winning all 3 sets with scores of 25-12, 25-13, and 15-6. Offensively, the Pack had 15 aces and 17 kills.  Ace leaders include: Lily VandenBerg and Kendall Barnhart with 4 apiece, Addie Shields with 3, Kaiya Flores and Marcy Tanner with 2 apiece.  VandenBerg also had 12 assists while Maddie Rottman had a pair of assists to help keep the offense running smoothly.  Leading attackers was Tanner with 7 kills, Sage Vandenberg with 5, Flores with 4 and Lily VandenBerg  and Barnhart with a kill apiece. Defensively, the Pack had 15 digs and 3 block kills.  Diggers included Shields with 9, VandenBerg with 3, Syd Moon with 2, Bella Ross with 2.  Sage Vandenberg, Kaiya Flores and Marcy Tanner each had a block kill. The JV Packers improve to 6-1 in league play, 8-6 overall.

The Lady JV Packers hosted West Michigan Christian and Northpointe Christian Schools this evening.  The Pack defeated WMC 2-1 and NPC 2-1 to improve to 9-6 on the season. The Packers had 21 Aces, 42 kills, 61 digs and 5 blocks during the contests.  Offensive leaders included Lily VandenBerg with 7 Aces and 29 assists, and 6 kills, Sage Vandenberg with 12 kills, Marcy Tanner with 7 kills and 6 Aces, Kaiya Flores with 7 kills, Kendall Barnhart with 5 kills, and Maddie Rottman with 2 kills. Defensive leaders included Addie Shields with 24 digs, Bella Ross with 5 digs, and Syd Moon with 4 digs.  Vandenberg and Flores each had 2 blocks while Tanner added a block kill.   The Lady Packers host Chip Hills on Tuesday night for their last home matchup of the season.

The Lady JV Packers hosted a quad volleyball match up including Lakeview, Hesperia and Central Montcalm.  The Lady Packers defeated Lakeview and Central Montcalm, falling short in a very close battle with Hesperia. Offensively, the Packers had 32 Aces, 67 kills while protecting their court with 67 digs with 11 blocks on the day.  Leaders include:  Sage Vandenberg had 17 kills, Lily VandenBerg had 12 Aces and 40 assists, Addie Shields with 23 digs, and Kaiya Flores with 6 blocks on the morning. Overall, the Pack had an outstanding morning playing some great volleyball.  The Lady JV Packers improve their overall record to 7-6.  They host a tri Monday evening and their last home conference matchup against Chip Hills Tuesday night.

The Lady JV Packers travelled once again to Newaygo to face the lions on their own court.  The JV Packers won the contest 3-0 with 27-25, 25-18, 15-9 set victories. Leading the Packers offensively were Kaiya Flores with 7 kills, Kendall Barnhart with 5 kills, Sage Vandenberg with 4 kills, Lily VandenBerg with 3 kills, Marcy Tanner with 2 kills and Maddie Rottman with 1 kill.  The lions proved to be worthly passers on the evening as the Packers could only render 5 Aces during the match.  VandenBerg helped the offense run effectively, producing 12 assists. Defensively, the Packers were led by Addie Shields with 5 digs, Syd Moon, Tanner, VandenBerg each added 2 digs apiece, while Bella Ross and Barnhart each had a dig.  Flores added 2 blocks with Vandenberg, Tanner and Rottman each having a block. JV Packers record is 5-5 on the season. The Packers are at home for a quad matchup on Saturday.

The Lady JV Packers travelled to Tri County to battle the Vikings on their home turf.  The Pack was led offensively serving up 26 Aces during the contest.  Kendall Barnhart had 10 Aces, Marcy Tanner 8, Addie Shields with 4, and Lily Vandenberg with 2, Bella Ross and Kaiya Flores with 1 Ace apiece.  Sage Vandenberg led all attackers with 7 kills, Flores had 6, Barnhart with 4 and Tanner with 2 kills.  Lily Vanderberg helped keep the offense running smoothly with 11 assists. The Vikings struggled to get much offense going, but defensively, the Pack was led by Shields with 2 digs and Syd Moon with 1 dig.  Vandenberg had 2 blocks while Tanner and Maddie Rottman each had a solo block.  The JV packers improve to 3-1 in conference play.  They travel to Newaygo for another contest with the lions on Thursday.

The JV lady Packers traveled to Forest Hills Northern to battle some great competition from FHN, GRCC and Caledonia.  The Pack battled diligently but came up short and lost all three matches on the day. Offensive leaders included Marcy Tanner with 12 kills, Kendall Barnhart with 6, Sage Vandenberg 13, Kaiya Flores with 12, and Maddie Rottman with 4.  Serving up Aces included Tanner with 5, Barnhart with 2, Vandenberg with 1 and Lily Vandenberg with 2.  Lily also had 34 assists on the day. Defensively, the Pack was led by Tanner with 15 digs, Addie Shields with 12 digs, Bella Ross with 9 digs and Syd Moon with 5 digs.  The Pack also had 6 blocks on the day: Flores with 3, Vandenberg with 2 and Rottman with 1. The JV Packers are 3 - 5 on the season.

The JV lady Packers faced Shelby and Ludington this evening on their home court.  The Packers defeated the Tigers in straight sets, 25-16, 26-24, 25-22.  The offense was led by Marcy Tanner and Sage Vandenberg with 11 and 10 kills respectively.  Kaiya Flores had 6 kills while Lily Vandenberg had 2, with Maddie Rottman and Kendall Barnhart with 1 kill each.  Lily Vandenberg also had 22 assists to help the offense run smoothly.  The Packers also served up 16 Aces on the evening; leaders included S. Vandenberg with 4, Bella Ross, Syd Moon and Flores with 3 Aces apiece, L. Vandenberg had 2 and Tanner with 1. Defensively, the Pack was led by Ross, Tanner and Moon with 3 digs each.  Tanner had 1 block while Sage Vandenberg had 2 blocks. The Lady Packers lost a very tough match with Ludington, 2 -1 scoring 13-25, 19-25, and 25-18.  The offense was led by Flores with 7 kills, Tanner and Barnhart with 6 kills apiece, Sage Vandenberg with 4 kills, Rottman with 2, and Lily Vandenberg with 1.  Lily also had 20 assists in the matchup. The lady Packers did find some scoring via their serves sending 5 Aces towards the Orioles.   Defensively, the Pack struggled to gain some momentum with passes with only 6 digs on the matchup.  Addie Shields had 2, Ross, Moon, Tanner and Vandenberg with 1 apiece.  Vandenberg, Flores and Rottman each had fabulous blocks to help stop the Oriole attacks. Overall the Packers played pretty well against a very tough Oriole defense.  The Packers head to Forest Hills Northern for a quad on Saturday.

The JV lady Packers defeated the lionesses from Newaygo in straight sets 25-14, 25-12, 25-19 to improve to 2-1 on the season. The Pack enjoyed an impressive attacking offense with 25 kills.  Leaders include Sage Vandenberg and Kaiya Flores with 6 kills apiece, Marcy Tanner with 4, Maddie Rottman and Kendall Barnhart with 3, Addie Shields with 2 and Syd Moon with 1 kill.  The Pack also had a stellar serving performance with 18 Aces during the contest.  Leaders include Barnhart with 5, Tanner and Shields with 4 apiece, Lily Vandenberg with 3, and Flores with 2.  Vandenberg also help our offense run smoothly with 19 assists on the evening. Defensively, the Pack had 26 digs; led by Shields with 8, Bella Ross and Tanner with 5 each, Moon with 3 and Barnhart and Vandenberg with 2 apiece.  Flores also had a monster block during the first set to help settle Newaygo's offense from an early start. An overall great game of volleyball was on display from the Lady Packers.  Next matchup is a tri at home Thursday with guests Shelby and Ludington.

The JV lady Packers lost a tough battle this evening in hornet country.  Leading the Pack offensively was Marcy Tanner, Lily Vandenberg and Kaiya Flores with 3 kills apiece, Addie Shields with 2 kills, with Kendall Barnhart and Sage Vandenberg with a kill each.  Serving leaders for the Pack include Shields and Tanner with 3 Aces each, Sage V with 2 Aces and Lily V., Barnhart and Maddie Rottman with an Ace apiece.  Defensively, the Pack was led by Shields with 6 digs, Tanner and Syd Moon with 2 digs each and Bella Ross with 1 dig.   The JV packers are 1-1 on the season; next conference matchup is with Newaygo next Tuesday.

The Girls JV Volleyball team battled the Cardinals from Big Rapids this evening at a home conference match.  Serving was the main offense this evening as the lady Packers served up 16 Aces; Kendall Barnhart with 5 Aces and 10 points, Marcy Tanner with 4 Aces and 8 points, Addie Shields with 3 Aces and 4 points.  Offensively, the lady Packers chipped in 14 kills; led by Tanner and Shields with 5 apiece, Barnhart with 2, and Maddie Rottman with 1.  Kaiya Flores put down a monster "quick kill" to help seal the victory in the third set.  Freshman setter Lily Vandenberg had 10 assists as she worked very diligently putting the ball in position for our hitters to attack the ball. Defensively, the Pack was led by Shields with 9 digs, Syd moon with 4, Tanner with 6, Bella Ross with 3 and Barnhart with 8.  Sage Vandenberg had a tremendous block to add to the point total.   Overall, a great victory for the Pack as they stepped onto the hard court for their first match of the season after training for weeks outside in various conditions.  Well done ladies!
