Fremont Junior Varsity Packers Cruise Past Ravenna

The Fremont Junior Varsity Packers secured a decisive victory over Ravenna on Tuesday with a commanding 9-0 triumph.

Their offensive momentum kicked off in the first inning when Caleb Vissia's single drove in the first run.

In the second inning, Mason Sparks's walk added another run to the scoreboard for Fremont.

The Packers extended their lead further in the bottom of the third inning. Hudson Wiersema's walk brought in one run, while Karston Falbe's single brought in two more.

Mason Sparks claimed the victory for the Fremont, delivering a stellar performance on the mound. Sparks held Ravenna to four hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out seven batters and issuing five walks. Brayden Zilken suffered the loss for Ravenna, pitching three innings and allowing five runs on four hits, with three strikeouts and five walks. Colten Brown contributed one inning of shutout relief for the Packers, conceding no hits, striking out two, and walking one.

Contributing to the offensive effort, Caleb Vissia and Karston Falbe each drove in two runs for the Fremont Junior Varsity Packers. Hudson Wiersema showcased exceptional plate discipline, drawing three walks. The team demonstrated keen batting discipline overall, tallying nine walks in total. Additionally, Coltyn Zerlaut, Brayden Crosley, Mason Sparks, and Hudson Wiersema showcased their speed on the basepaths, collectively stealing multiple bases and accumulating a total of 11 stolen bases throughout the game.

Looking ahead, Fremont Junior Varsity will face the Mason County Central Spartans in their next game on Monday.
