Girls Varsity Bowling vs. OPEN

The Fremont Packer girls had their Regional Individual competition on Friday at Sherman lanes in Muskegon. 73 bowlers were competing for the top 7 finishes to advance to State next Saturday at Jax 60 lanes in Jackson. The girls represented their school very well with all 6 girls finishing in the top 35 spots. The team was led by Senior Sophia Romine who finished in 3rd place, punching her ticket to the State Finals. Throwing games of 214, 179, 147, 127, 169, and 132 for a 961 total averaging 161 for the day. Annika Yuhasz finished 9th with a 911, Andrea Anderson came in at 23rd with a 774, Madi Boyd was 25th with a 772, Amelia Foster was 31st with a 756 and Adena Tedford came in at 35th with 734. Congratulations to Sophia for advancing to her first State competition and to the rest of the girls for reprsenting their school proudly.

Thursday the Fremont Packer girls had their Regional competition at Sherman lanes in Muskegon along with 12 other schools. The days format was the team event, bowling 8 Baker games, 2 regular games, with the top 2 teams moving on to State competition. The girls started out slow throwing a 116 game. They came back really strong throwing not only their season high Baker game, but the best Baker game for all the teams a 212. They went up and down after that and would average 139 for the 8 Bakers. They threw a nice 757 in their first regular game, and a 539 their last game. They ended up in a very respectable 3rd place finish with 2,408 pins for the day. The team was led by Sophia Romine with a nice 195 game and Andrea Anderson had a 156.

The Fremont Packer girls had their year end Conference Tournament today at Northway lanes. With a 3 individual / 3 Baker game format, they started out a little slow throwing a pair of 646's. Annika Yuhasz had the high game of 159 for the first game, Sophia Romine and Adena Tedford had 151's for the next game. They bowled better the last game throwing a 715 with Sophia Romine rolling a 174. Sophia also led the team today finishing in the top 10 at #7, averaging 161 for the day. The girls finished in 3rd place for the tournament today and 2nd place overall in the conference.

The Fremont Packer girls had their last regular season match today at Fremont lanes against Holton. They started out a little slow throwing a 125 Baker game and loosing by 8 pins. They came back and won the next Baker game with a 158 but would loose Baker totals taking 4 of the 10 points possible. They really started to bowl good throwing a 727 the first regular game winning by 100 pins. They next game was even better rolling a nice 767 winning that game by 102 pins, and taking the match 20 - 10. The team was led by Sophia Romine with two really nice games of 191 and 185, Andrea Anderson had a 173, Annika Yuhasz had a 167, and Amelia Foster added a 165.

The Packer girls had an away match today against Ludington at the Stixx lanes. They started out strong winning the first Baker game with a 165. Ludington came back and won the next game with a 171 but the Packers would win totals and took 6 of the 10 points possible. They girls bowled well during the regular games throwing a 642 and a 691 but it wasn't enough against Ludington loosing totals by 15 pins and the match 17 - 13. The team was led by Andrea Anderson with a 162 game and Sophia Romine had a 158.

The Packer girls team had an away match today against Mason County Central at Spartan West lanes in Ludington. They started out strong winning both Baker games and taking all 10 points possible. They continued to bowl well throwing a 744 and a 677 during the regular games, and taking the match 29 - 1. The team was led by Sophia Romine who rolled her best game ever a really nice 233. Amelia Foster had a 169 and Adena Tedford added a 145

They started out winning the first Baker game with a 122 but would loose the next Baker game and took 4 out of the 10 points possible. They bowled better during the regular games winning them both and the match 27 - 3. The team was led by Andrea Anderson with a 159 and Sophia Romine with a 152.

The Packer girls had a match today against Whitehall at Northway lanes. They started out good during the Baker games winning the first game with a 167. They would loose the next game but took 6 out of the 10 points possible. They won the first regular game by 17 pins and then bowled their season high game of 779. They ended up winning the match 22-8. The team was led by Sophia Romine with two awesome games of 179 and 178, Andrea Anderson had a 164 and Annika Yuhasz threw a 156.

The Packer girls had a home match today against Oakridge at Fremont lanes. They started out slow loosing both Baker games and going down10 - 0 after the Baker set. They came back hard during the regular games winning the first game by 31 pins and the next game by 42 pins. They went on to take 16 out of the 20 points possible and won the match 16 - 14. The team was led by Sophia Romine with a 154 game, Jessica Reed with a 152 game and Adena Tedford had a 150 game.

The Packers girls had an away match today against Orchard View at Northway Lanes. They started out by throwing Baker games of 139 and 121, taking both Baker's and a 10 points lead. They threw a 655 regular game and won a close one, by 3 pins. They would loose the next game 677 to 755 but won the match 18.5 to 11.5. The team was led by Andrea Anderson throwing games of 172 and 150, Annika Yuhasz had a 163 game, and Sophia Romine threw a 145 game.

The Fremont Packers girls had a home make up match against Montague yesterday at Fremont lanes. They started out good by winning both Baker games taking a 10 - 0 lead. They continued to bowl well winning the first regular game by 184 pins and the next game by 132 pins. They went on to win the match 29 - 1. The team was led by Andrea Anderson with a 148 and Adena Tedford with a 146.

The Packer Girls had a home match against Ravenna today at Fremont Lanes. They started out pretty good throwing a 154 Baker game but would loose the game by 5 pins. They lost the 2nd game and both Bakers going down 10 - 0. They bowled average regular games but the Ravenna girls bowled better winning both games and the match 28 - 2. The Packrs were led by Sophia Romine with a 173 and Annika Yuhasz added a 151.

The Packer girls had a home match today against Kent City. They started out with a 135 Baker game and then added a better 162 game. They would win both Baker games and taking all of the 10 Baker point's. They continue to bowl well winning both of the regular games and taking the match 27 - 3. The team was led by Mad I Boyd with a 161 game, and Sophia Romine added a 147.

The Fremont girls had an away match today against Holton at Northway lanes. They started out good with a 147 Baker games but then threw a 104. They split the Baker games and took 4 out of the 10 points possible. They get back to bowing better with team regular games of 672 and 691. They would win both games and the match 22 - 8. The team was led by Sophia Romine with games of 170 and 151 and Annika Yuhasz added a 149.

The lady Packers team had a home match today against a short handed Mason County Central team at Fremont Lanes. Unfortunately MCC only had 3 girl bowlers for today's match. Fremont started out good with Baker games of 130 and 139. Their regular games were 671 and 593, and they would win the match 29 - 1. The team was led by Adena Tedford and Andrea Anderson both throwing a 172 game.

The Packers traveled to Muskegon today to have a match against an undefeated Oakridge team. The ladies started out with two pretty good Baker games of 159 and 156 but it wasn't good enough for the Oakridge team who shot 170 and 171. The girl continued to battle but lost the first regular game by 33 and coming down to the last ball loosing the next one by 1 pin. They lost totals by only 34 pins and the match 26 - 4. Even though the score might not reflect it the Packer Ladies bowled good today.The girls were led by Sophia Romine with games of 165 and 163, Amelia Foster with a 161 and Bronawyn Vliem with a 155.

The Lady Packers traveled to Muskegon today for a match against Ravenna. They had a slow start loosing both Baker games and going down 10 - 0. They continued to struggle loosing both regular games and the match 28 - 2. The team was led by Sophia Romine with games of 182 and 145.

The girls had a home match today against Whitehall at Fremont Lanes. They started out slow loosing both Baker games and going down 10 - 0 after the Bakers. They would come back during the regular games and won the first one by 36 pins and the second game by 2. They managed to squeak out 15 points and ended up in a tie. Sophia Romine led the girls with games of 176 and 149, Amelia Foster had a 157.

The Lady Packers traveled to Northway Lanes to bowl against West Michigan Christian. For whatever reason our opponents did not show up, resulting in Fremont winning the match 30 - 0. The girls were led by Sophia Romine with a nice 178 and Andrea Anderson had a 126.

On Wednesday the Fremont girls had a home match against Ludington. They ladies started out really slow loosing both Baker games and going down 10 - 0. They would come back really nice winning the first regular games by 60 and the second game by 12. They went on to win the match 17 - 13. The team was led by Amelia Foster with a 155 game and Andrea Anderson had a 147.
