The Fremont Boys' Varsity Tennis Team ended their regular season with a 4-4 tie with Grand Rapids West Catholic on a beautiful afternoon in Fremont. Winner were: #1 Singles Finn Giberson (Sr.) 6-3, 6-0; #2 Singles Joey DeLong (Jr.) 6-0, 6-3; #4 Singles Jonathan Spielmann (Sr.), and #1 Doubles Parker VandenBerg (Sr.)/Jaxon Deur (Sr.) 6-3, 6-0. The team ended the regular season with a record of 3-7-2. On Wed., Oct. 7 the team travels to Ludington for the Regional tournament.

Fremont Boys' Varsity Tennis traveled to Cadillac on Tues., Sept. 29 and came away with a 4-4 tie. This was a vast improvement from 3 weeks ago when we lost 1-7. The entire team played well. Winners were: Joey DeLong (#2 Singles) 6-7, 6-3, 12-10; Jonathon Spielmann (#4 Singles) 6-0, 6-0; Jaxon Deur/Parker VandenBerg (#1 Doubles) 6-2, 6-4; and Cole Workman/Hunter Corbin (#3 Doubles) 1-6, 6-3, 10-4. Our next match is Thurs., Oct. 1 at Cedar Springs.

The Fremont Boys Varsity Tennis Team lost in a close match to Grant 3-5. Winning for the Packers were junior Joey DeLong (#2 singles) senior Jake Crowley, (#3 singles), and senior Jonathan Spielmann. (#4 singles) It came down to the last match at #3 doubles which saw Cole Workman (Jr.) and Hunter Corbin (Sr.) win the first set 7-5 but then losing 6-2, 6-1 in the final two sets. Fremont plays Big Rapids tomorrow at home.
