The Girls JV Soccer Team traveled to Western Michigan Christian to play yesterday. The two teams tied 0-0. Though there was not any scoring, the Fremont girls dominated the entire game. The girls out shot WMC 9-1 and had a number of scoring chances, but the speed of the turf field was difficult for the girls manage. The defense smothered WMC the entire game not giving up their one shot on goal until late into the second half of the game. The defense was led by Taylor Johnson, Roxy Martin, Ariana Tanner, Madi Magers, and Zoe Beecham. CJ Johnson and Aarani Selvanesan played great in the midfield for the Packers starting a number of rushed forward.
The teams record now stands at 5-6-3. The girls travel to Cadillac this afternoon for a 5:00 pm game.

The Girls JV Soccer team hosted Holland West Ottawa for a game, and the girls got back on the winning track in a big way. The girls won 6-0 scoring 3 goals in each half. The girls pressured West Ottawa from the very beginning of the game. Roxy Martin opened the scoring with a huge shot from about 35 yards out twelve minutes into the game. Makenna Scott then scored back to back goals in less than 8 minutes, her 10th and 11th goals of the season, to extend the Fremont lead.
The second half started quickly when Avery Christophersen jumped on a loose ball and fired a powerful shot into the back of the net in the first three minutes. She scored her second goal of the game 6 minutes later tucking a shot just inside the goalpost. Macey Dunbar completed the scoring with her 9th goal of the season.
The defense held West Ottawa to 2 shots on goal. Christophersen was in net the first half of the game and Martin played the second half. Fremont's record improves to 5-6-2 for the season.
Friday evening the Girls JV Soccer Team traveled to Hart to play. It was a difficult game for the ladies with Hart playing a lot of extra players. Hart scored 2 goals in the first half one on a great shot into the upper corner and the second on a bad bounce into the middle of the field off of a clearing attempt. Fremont had a number of chances but hit the goalie with the ball or out it just out of reach to get a shot off on the goalie.
The second half was made more difficult by the injury to Taylor Johnson who sat out the entire second part of the game. Hart did not make any changes to their lineup, and scored 2 more times before Grace Christophersen was able to score her 6th goal of the season off of a great through pass from Macey Dunbar. Makenna Scott added to her team lead with her 9th goal of the season on a powerful shot past the keeper with about 14 minutes to play, but unfortunately the girls could not come any closer.
The Fremont Girls JV Soccer Team played North Muskegon in one of the best games of the year for the girls last night. North Muskegon controlled most of the game, but the defense and goaltending for Fremont was outstanding! The was very quick paced and both teams drove down the field and had chances to score. North Muskegon was the first to break through on a powerful rising shot that went through the fingertips of Avery Christophersen who was in net for Fremont. After that the Fremont defense led by Roxy Martin, Taylor Johnson, and Zoe Beecham forced North Muskegon to take shots from out wide. The first half ended with 1-0. The second half was a mirror image of the first with North Muskegon getting tough shots and Fremont driving deep on multiple occasions but coming up empty. As time was winding down the Fremont girls found a burst of energy and had multiple opportunities to drive in for shots. They finally broke through with just over a minute left in the game. Grace Chritophersen took the ball down the left side, made a great cut back and made the perfect pass to Macey Dunbar who took one touch and buried the ball in the back of the net for the tying goal. Christophersen made15 saves in net for Fremont.
The girls next game is Friday when they travel to Hart for a 4:00 pm game.
The Girls JV Soccer team played a tightly contested game against the visiting Fruitport team. The two teams battled back and forth with Fruitport controlling the ball for most of the half, but the Fremont defense played a strong game. Macey Dunbar opened the scoring 10 minutes into the game when she gathered up a loose ball in front of the net and sent between the goalies legs for her 7th goal of the season. Fruitport continued to push the pace of the game and were able to finally beat the Fremont defense with a powerful shot into the corner of the net with less than 4 minutes to play. The game remained a tight battle between the two teams with Fruitport attacking, and the Fremont defense keeping them away from the net and forcing wide shots. With less than 5 minutes to go in the game Fruitport was able to pounce on a loose ball in front of the Fremont net and score the game winning goal. Avery Christopherson had 13 saves in net for Fremont.
The Fremont Girls JV team hosted the Tri-County Vikings on Friday in a great back and fourth game. Makenna Scott opened the scoring 7 minutes into the game, with her team leading 8th goal of the season, off of a beautiful through pass off of the head of Macey Dunbar. Tri-County tied it up with a bending shot that just got past Avery Christophersen, but Roxy Martin took a rebound off of the Tri-County goalie from a beautiful corner kick and pushed it into the net for a Fremont lead with just 3 minutes left in the first half. The second half started and Tri-County made some changes on the field and applied a lot of pressure on the defense sneaking a goal past Christophersen to tie the score up. Both teams battled for the entire second half going back and forth until Arianna Tanner took a perfect pass from Macey Dunbar, and placed a great shot into the corner of the net for a Fremont lead with 6 minutes left in the game. Tri-County applied quite a bit of pressure, but the defense led by Taylor Johns, Zoe Beecham, and Madi Magers were able to keep Tri-County from scoring. Avery Christophersen finished the game with 6 saves on 8 shots. Fremont improves to 5-4-1 for the season.
The Girls JV Soccer team hosted Hart yesterday in an exciting soccer game. The girls played a great game even though they ended on the wrong side of the final score. They are improving every game while playing tough competition. Fremont started very quickly, scoring just 3 minutes into the game, with Macey Dunbar racing into the box and hitting a powerful shot into the back of the net for her 6th goal of the season with the assist going to Aarani Selvanesan. Hart came back and scored 3 quick goals before things settled down for the rest of the first half. Hart made a number of player changes in the second half, and Fremont controlled the second half of the game. Fremont had a number of quality opportunities to score and finally broke through midway through the second half with a goal by Makenna Scott with her 7th goal of the season with Dunbar picking up the assist with a well played head ball. Unfortunately, Fremont could not push the tying goal into the net and the game ended 3-2 in favor of Hart.
The team continues its busy week with a home game against Tri-County Friday starting at 4:30.
The Girls JV Soccer team traveled to Ludington last night for the second game against the host Orioles. The new turf field in Ludington caused plenty of issues for the girls. Ludington scored first with a long shot that was aided by the strong winds that carried it over the outstretched arms of Avery Christophersen who was in net for the Packers. Fremont fought back to tie it with 9 minutes left in the first half with a goal from Macey Dunbar, her 4th of the year, with the assist going to Ariana Tanner. Unfortunately, a bad bounce led to Ludington scoring with less than a minute left in the half to take a 2-1 lead. Ludington increased their lead to 3-1 less than 5 minutes into the second half with a beautiful shot into the top corner of the net. Dunbar cut into the lead with her second goal of the game, with a perfect pass from Brynna Barnhart, tucking it just inside the post to make the score 3-2. With Fremont pressing to tie the score up the girls got caught up field and Ludington scored the final goal of the game. The girls fall to 3-3-1 with two more games this week against Hart on Wednesday and Tri-County on Friday.
The Girls JV Soccer team hosted the girls from Shelby yesterday afternoon. It was a tightly contested the entire game and ended in a 0-0 draw. Fremont had a few chances in the first half of the game, but could not get anything past the Shelby goal keeper. The second half was very physical with the girls attacking the ball but once again could not get anything into the back of the net. Roxy Martin had 2 saves in net in the first half and Ariana Tanner had 4 in the second half of the game to combine for the 4th shutout of the year. Fremont's record now sits at 3-2-1 for the season. Fremont travels to Ludington on Monday for their next game.
The Girls JV Soccer Team defeated Manistee 2-0 on Wednesday and finished the week with two big conference wins. The game started out slowly for both teams and was tightly contested until late into the second half. Grace Christoffersen scored the lone goal of the first half, her 4th goal of the season, tucking the ball just inside the post with Makenna Scott picking up the assist with a great diagonal pass from just outside the box. That was all the offense either team could generate in the first half. The Fremont defense, led by Taylor Johnson, shut down Manistee's offense and only allowed one shot on Roxy Martin who started in goal the first half of the game.
The second half started just like the first half with Fremont being able to generate a number of chances on offense but struggling to put the ball on net. The score stayed the same until Avery Christoffersen drew a penalty inside the box. Martin buried the penalty shot into the corner of the goal to complete the scoring for the game. Ariana Tanner played the second half in net and stopped the one shot that Manistee had on goal in the second half of the game. Fremont's record is now 3-2 overall and 2-1 in the Conference.
The Girls JV Soccer Team got back on track with a solid win over the visiting Ludington Orioles 3-0. Grace Christoffersen started the scoring with a great shot from the back post past the keeper to make it 1-0 with the assist going to Makenna Scott. Five minutes later the Lady Packers added another goal when Roxy Martin dribbled past the Oriole defense and tucked a shot just inside the post after a great pass from Brynna Barnhart to create the needed space. The score stayed that way until late into the second half when Scott scored from right in front of the goal with Barnhart earning her second assist of the game.
Ariana Tanner and Martin split time in net for Fremont with Tanner making 3 saves and Martin stopping the lone shot on goal by Ludington in the second half. The defense played an outstanding game keeping Ludington from having any quality scoring chances. The defense was led by Taylor Johnson, Madalyn Magers, and Zoe Beecham.
The Girls JV Soccer team hosted the Oakridge Eagles yesterday for a hard fought game. Both teams had early opportunities, but it was Oakridge who opened the scoring 9 minutes into the game, but Makenna Scott tied it 5 minutes later with her 5th goal of the season. Oakridge came back and scored again on a long shot that bounced in between the defense and the goalie and ended up in the net. Fremont came out after halftime and put pressure on Oakridge from the very beginning. Scott was able to blast a shot into the corner of the net for her second of the game to tie the score. Unfortunately, the Eagles were able to take the lead for good with 10 minutes left in the game. Fremont had a great chance to tie the game on a beautifully slotted ball by Grace Christoffersen, but Avery Christoffersen was unable to get a good touch on the ball. Ariana Tanner played her first game in net and made 8 saves in the loss.
The girls play again this friday hosting the Cadillac Vikings at 5:00 pm.
The Girls JV Soccer Team started the season with a bang shutting out Comstock Park 8-0.Makenna Scott led the way scoring a hat trick in the game. She opened the scoring 3 minutes into the game. She scored approximately 12 minutes later to make it 2-0, and then Macey Dunbar, 1 goal, and Grace Christoffersen, 2 goals, stretched the lead to 5-0 at halftime. Roxy Martin was in goal the first half and made 1 save. The second half more of the same from the Packers. Scott scored her 3rd goal of the game, and Martin came out of goal to play forward and she scored 2 goals in just over 3 minutes to end the game. Arianna Tanner stepped into net the second half of the game. Fremont out shot Comstock Park 24-1 for the game.
