Girls JV Soccer vs. Shelby High School

The Girls JV Soccer Team ended the season on a high note yesterday defeating Shelby 1-0. Madi Magers scored the lone goal 15 minutes into the game with a shot from 40 yards out. From there it was a back and forth game with the Packers hitting the goal post two times. Shelby applied a lot of pressure during the second half, but Amelia Foster made a number of great saves in goal. The defense was led by Ella Shields, Maya Hambrock, and Zoe Beecham. Taylor Giangiobbe, Olivia Dunbar, and Ali Mejuto kept the pressure on the Shelby defense the entire game with great passing and crosses into the penalty area.

Win: 4 - 0
The Girls JV Soccer Team cracked the win column last night. They traveled to Lee High School in Grand Rapids and dominated play the entire game winning 4-0. Marcella De Aquino led the way with 3 goals, Taylor Giangiobbe had a goal and an assist, and Carol Portelinha had 2 assists. The Packers outshot the Legends 15-0 due to a stifling defense led by Ella Shields, Maya Hambrock, and Madi Magers.

The second half of a home and home series with Ludington did not go well for the JV girls soccer team. They lost 5-0 after being shorthanded for the game. They controlled a majority of the second half of the game with great passing and attacking, but were once again unable to score. The teamplays again on Thursday traveling to Lee HS in Grand Rapids.

The Girls JV Soccer team traveled to Ludington on Friday, and lost a tightly contested game 3-0. The ladies were down 1-0 at halftime, and after making some adjustments to the lineup to generate offense the girls gave up two more goals. The girls continue to get shots on goal but cannot get them into the back of the net. They play Ludington again on Wednesday.

The JV Girls Soccer team traveled to Tri-County yesterday for a game. The host Vikings pressured the Packers from the beginning of the game sending a number of shots at goalie Amelia Foster. She stopped many of them, but could not stop them all. The team changed up their lineup, dealing with in game injuries, and their formation which generated a little more offense, but once again could not put any past the Tri-County goalie. Final score was 8-0 Tri-County.

The JV Girls Soccer team lost another heart breaker last night 2-0 to Shelby. The girls dominated play for the entire second half of play with many scoring chances, but once again could not put one into the net. Amelia Foster played a fantastic game in goal making many saves including one from the penalty stripe. The season continues tomorrow as the girls travel to Tri-County for a 4:30 game.

The JV girls team played Sparta on Friday in the rain and cold and lost 2-0. Both goals were scored in the first half with the final goal coming with less than a minute before the half. The team continues to have many scoring opportunities, play solid defense, and get very good goaltending. Unfortunately, that has not resulted in a win yet this season though. The team has three games once again this week including home on Monday at 5:30.

The Girls JV soccer team played their second game of the season last night. They lost 2-0 though they dominated play throughout the majority of the game. The ladies had many good scoring opportunities but could not cash in. Amelia Foster had a number of great saves in net for Fremont, Madalyn Magers, and Ella Shields played strong games defensively. The team has another home game today at 5:00 pm vs Oakridge.

In the first game of the season the Girls JV Soccer team lost 4-1 to Whitehall. The game was tied at halftime 0-0 with each team getting a number of quality shots on goal. Jessie Petry made some incredible close in shots and Taylor Giangiobbe had some quality chances, but could not get one past the Whitehall goalie.
In the second half, Marcella De Aquino scored the first goal of the season for Fremont with a powerful shot from the back post. It came off of a great cross from Giangiobbe. Unfortunatley, White hall was able to score three more times, two late in the second half to take the win. It was a much closer game than the score shows, and the ladies played hard to the end of the game.
