The Fremont Junior Varsity football team went to Newaygo tonight and pulled off a defensive win. This team comprised of a lot of new high school football players play a great game. This year JV team has only 3 returning football players from last years 7-1-1 team. The rest of the team are either freshman or sophomores that have never played football at all.

                Offensively we were led by Justin Dirheimer scoring our 3 touchdowns on long runs made possible by some good blocking by the young offensive line.  Kyler Dekuiper made some good throws throughout the game to keep the drives going and help spread the ball around to newcomers Garret Hanshue, Carl Vleim, Levi Wimmer and Hayden Threatt.  With the new offense this season we look to spread the ball around and let our athletes make plays which they did. Some plays were definitely missed tonight but that is expected with a young team, but it is great to know that the potential is extremely high.

                The defense tonight was command and controlled by Hayden Threatt and Garret Hanshue, consistently they were placing our secondary in ideal places to support the run support. The defensive line was exciting to see growth throughout the game and newcomer Easton Herman showed out tonight making several tackles in the backfield. We had some key stops tonight especially on 4^th and inches to go Owen Vandenberg sacked the runner for a 5-yard loss to get us the ball back and we scored on the next drive to put us up.

Overall this group of kids with adding some more through the next few years will be a very good and talented football team.
