Big First Inning Propels Fremont Junior Varsity Baseball to Victory Over Hart Fremont defeated Hart 11-1 on Friday thanks to six runs in the first inning. Fremont batters contributing to the big inning included Blake Zerlaut, Mason Sparks, Rem Faulkner, and Chase Mercer, all driving in runs in the frame. Chase Mercer was the winning pitcher for Fremont surrendering one run on two hits over five innings, striking out 11. Fremont ended up racking up ten hits on the day. Caleb Vissia, Blake Zerlaut, and Trent Gibbie each collected two hits to lead Fremont. Fremont didn't commit a single error in the field. And Seth Zerlaut led Fremont with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with seven stolen bases.
