Fremont Junior Varsity Baseball Clings to Victory as Newaygo Nearly Erases 6-Run Deficit Fremont got out to a six-run lead in the third inning and held on for an 11-9 victory over Newaygo on Friday pulling away for good with four runs in the second inning. In the second Talon Slater singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run and Caleb Vissia singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs. Degan Klimek was on the mound for Fremont allowing two hits and eight runs over two and a third innings, striking out five. Fremont scattered 12 hits in the game with Talon Slater, Chase Mercer, Caleb Vissia, and Austin Sparks each having two hits to lead the team.
