The Fremont Junior Varsity Baseball team played two games Friday evening. In Game 1, the team defeated Muskegon Catholic Central 10-0. In the first inning, Fremont got their offense started early when Blake Zerlaut singled on the first pitch of their at bat, scoring one run. Owen VanderStelt earned the victory on the hill for Fremont%u2013 the righty lasted three innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out six and walking one. Coltyn Zerlaut threw two scoreless innings in relief out of the bullpen. Blake Zerlaut led Fremont with two hits in two at bats. Fremont stole ten bases during the game, as three players stole more than one, with Mason Sparks leading the way with four. In Game 2, the Fremont Junior Varsity Baseball team ran off with the lead late in the game in a 21-6 victory over Muskegon Catholic Central. The game was tied at six, with Fremont batting in the bottom of the third when Remi Faulkner doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs. Fremont got things started in the first inning with Chase Paulsen driving in one when he singled. Chase Mercer was the winning pitcher for Fremont, allowing one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out five and walking zero. Lucas Carrier started the game for Fremont, lasting two innings, allowing two hits and six runs while striking out one and walking one. Fremont tallied 14 hits in Game 2. Chase Mercer, Chase Paulsen, Remi Faulkner, Blake Zerlaut, and Degan Klimek all had multiple hits for Fremont. Chase Mercer leading with three hits in three at bats. Brendan Derks led Fremont with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with six stolen bases.
