The Fremont Packers competed at Lowell High School on Saturday in the MHSAA Individual Regionals tournament.and the Lady Packers wrestled at Regionals at Grayling High School on Sunday. Five of the Packers qualified for the Individual State Finals at Ford Field.
    Michael Romero was crowned the Regional Champion at 190 pounds, pinning all 3 of his opponents from Forest Hills Central, Hamilton and Cedar Springs.
    Tee Ward was at 138 pounds and finished Runner-up to Lowell’s Owen Segorski, a returning state champion.
     Trey Myers placed third after going 3-1 on the day. He pinned Boone from Lowell in the blood round by a pin in the last 30 seconds of the match, to clinch his trip to state.
     Killian Prewitt (126) and Briar Hambrock (285) both wrestled tough matches in their respective weight classes.

At the Girls' Regional tournament, 3 Lady Packers traveled to Grayling and two placed on the podium to qualify for the State Finals at Ford Field.  Ella Shields finished Runner-Up  in the 125 pound weight class and  Rylee Wright was 4th at 140 pounds. Sophomore, Maya Hambrock,  went 1-2 on the day and lost in the blood round, just missing a chance to wrestle at state.

The Individual State Finals will be held in Detroit at Ford Field on March 3rd and 4th.
