Wrestling State Individual Finals 2022

Seven Fremont wrestlers hit the road for Detroit this past weekend to compete in the Individual State Finals at Ford Field. Sophomore,  Tee Ward, took the path of 2 pins and a technical fall to become a Finalist against returning 2x State Champion, Wertanen from St. Joseph High School. Ward came up just short, losing 7-3, finishing as a State Runner-Up at 119 pounds. Ward placed 4th last year at the State Finals.

At 103 pounds, Killian Prewitt, and Michael Romero at 189, both battled to finish on the podium at 8th place to become All-Sate wrestlers. Returning All-Stater Trey Myers, Sophomore, competed in a really tough weight class at 145 pounds.

It was a new look to the Finals this year with a Girls Division for the first time.

Senior Packer, Lexie Andree, was All-State at 170 pounds, posting two pins and placing 5th overall. Ella Shields (120) and Kaidyn Pierson (105) both also qualified and had pins against their opponents.
