The Packers dropped their home opener to Manistee 22-12.  This was a game of two different halves for the Packers.  The Pack looked dominant in the first half controlling the ball, ripping off big chunks of yardage on the ground and playing tough defense.  Fremont opened the scoring in the 1st quarter when Brayden Crosley called his own number and scored from 5 yards out to give the Packers a 6-0 lead.  After stopping Manistee on 4th down, the Packers took moved the ball and on the first play of the 2nd quarter, Khai Noordyk found the end zone around the left end to extend the lead to 12-0.  Manistee found the end zone with just over 2 minutes left in the half as the Packers took a 12-8 lead into the locker rooms.  Manistee came out of the half and took advantage of a couple of Packer turnovers and scored twice in the 3rd quarter to over take the Packer lead and extend theirs to 22-12 at the end of the 3rd.  The Packers were stalemated for much of the 2nd half, but they were finally able to start moving the ball again late in the 4th and missed a couple of prime opportunities to score in the 4th quarter.  Leading the way for the Packer offense was Karter Frens with 144 yards rushing, Khai Noordyk with 53 yards rushing, and Brayden Crosley with 38 yards rushing.  Leading the Packers on defense was Asa Barnhard with 12 tackles and a sack, Michael Robinson and Chance Crawford both with 9 tackles and Khai Noordyk with 7.  The Packers host the Ludington Orioles next fFriday at 7 pm.
