The Varsity football team improved to 2-0 with a 24-7 win over Beaverton. Kyler DeKuiper completed a 33 yard touchdown pass to Justin Dirheimer with 4:26 left in the 1st quarter to take an early 6-0 lead. With 2:58 left in the 2nd quarter, DeKuiper connected with Owen Hertel for a 10 yard touchdown pass to take a 12-0 lead into half. Dirheimer scored again in the 3rd quarter on an 8 yard touchdown, bringing the score to 18-7 at the end of the the 3rd. Dirheimer capped of the scoring for the evening with a 16 yard toouchdown run with 4:55 left in the game. Dirheimer finished the evening with 171 yards rushing on 27 attempts and 3 touchdowns. DeKuiper finished the night 7/13 for 109 yards passing and 2 touchdowns. Leading the way on defense for the Packers was Connor Pettis with 6 tackles, Michael Romero and Asa Barnhard both with 4 tackles. Michael and Daniel Romero both had an interception as well. The varsity team plays next week home agains Ludington.
