Thursday's game against Reed City ended in heartbreak for Fremont, as they lost the lead late in a narrow 6-5 defeat.

Fremont took an early lead in the bottom of the first inning. Deagan Klimek's daring steal of home, followed by singles from Easton Herman and Chase Mercer, each brought in a run, putting Fremont ahead.

The game remained tightly contested, and Fremont managed to tie it up at five in the bottom of the fourth inning thanks to a timely single by Luke DeLong.

Ben Mellema took the mound for Fremont and was charged with the loss. He pitched five innings, allowing six runs (only one earned) on eight hits, while striking out six and walking two.

Offensively, Johnny Keena led Fremont with a strong performance at the plate, going 2-for-3. Luke DeLong, Easton Herman, and Chase Mercer each contributed an RBI. On the basepaths, Deagan Klimek and Johnny Keena each stole multiple bases, with Fremont amassing six stolen bases overall. Defensively, the team turned one double play.

Next up, Fremont will travel to Unity Christian for a game on Tuesday.
