Fremont secured a 4-1 victory against White Cloud on Saturday in the Newaygo County Tournament.

The Packers took an early lead in the second inning when White Cloud induced Luke Langley to hit into a fielder's choice, allowing one run to score.

Fremont extended their lead to 4-1 in the bottom of the fifth inning with key singles from Deagan Klimek and Luke DeLong.

Ben Mellema earned the win for Fremont, pitching a complete game. He allowed only three hits and one unearned run over seven innings, striking out nine and walking one.

Luke DeLong was instrumental in the middle of the lineup, driving in two runs and going 1-for-3 at the plate. Paxton Borgman and Deagan Klimek were standout performers, each collecting two hits. Borgman, Klimek, and Chase Mercer each stole multiple bases, contributing to the team's total of six stolen bases.

Fremont will face Newaygo in their second game of the tournament later on Saturday.
