Fremont encountered a challenging matchup against Tri County, resulting in an 8-5 loss Monday at home.
The Packers showcased early promise, opening the scoring in the first inning with Paxton Borgman's timely single, driving in a run.
Fremont regained the lead in the bottom of the second inning, courtesy of Brayden Crosley's drawn walk, giving them a 4-3 edge.
Despite a valiant effort, Fremont couldn't muster a comeback after the tird inning. Gabe Jones took the loss on the mound, while Ben Mellema led the offensive charge with three RBIs. Deagan Klimek showcased his prowess at the plate, collecting two hits, while the team's patience was evident with seven walks earned.
Looking ahead, Fremont will aim to bounce back as they prepare to face Whitehall in their next home game on Wednesday.
