Despite a valiant effort, Fremont Varsity Baseball faced a 5-3 defeat at the hands of Ludington. The game saw Fremont's Blake Zerlaut's pivotal single in the third inning, tying the game at 3, but Ludington's two runs in the fourth proved decisive.

Johnny Keena, on the mound for Fremont, endured the loss, pitching three and one-third innings and conceding four runs on six hits. Keena managed three strikeouts and issued two walks during the contest.

Offensively, Fremont found momentum through Blake Zerlaut's 2-for-3 performance, with Zerlaut and Easton Herman both contributing runs batted in. The team showcased discipline at the plate, accumulating six walks, led by Johnny Keena and Brayden Crosley, each with two.

Despite the setback, Fremont maintained a solid defensive performance, committing no errors throughout the game. Luke DeLong led the team with six fielding attempts.

Looking ahead, the Packers will regroup for the upcoming Cory Hinz Tournament on Saturday, where they are scheduled to face Dowagiac and South Haven.
