In a hard-fought battle, Fremont Varsity Baseball emerged victorious with a 4-1 triumph over Covenant Christian Thursday.

The game saw a tight match until the bottom of the fifth inning when Owen Vanderstelt's crucial single leveled the playing field, tying the game at one apiece.

However, it was in the bottom of the sixth inning that Fremont truly shone. With singles by Luke DeLong and Blake Zerlaut, they surged ahead to claim a commanding 4-1 lead, securing their path to victory.

Pitcher Ben Mellema played a pivotal role in Fremont's success, delivering a stellar performance on the mound. Over the course of seven innings, Mellema allowed just three hits and one unearned run, demonstrating remarkable control with nine strikeouts and no walks.

The offensive prowess of Chase Mercer and Luke DeLong couldn't be ignored, each collecting two hits for the Packers, with their consecutive hits adding to the team's momentum. Owen Vanderstelt and Luke DeLong each contributed with an RBI, further solidifying Fremont's dominance.
