Pitching Dominates as Fremont Packers Defeat Kent City Eagles

Both teams showcased impressive pitching performances on Saturday, but the Packers emerged victorious with a 3-0 win over the Eagles. Paxton Borgman took the mound for Fremont and delivered an outstanding performance, recording 21 outs.

Fremont took an early lead in the first inning when Deagan Klimek scored after a successful tag-up play. Another run was added by Fremont in the third inning.

Paxton Borgman secured the win for Fremont Varsity Packers with a stellar pitching display. The right-handed pitcher held the Eagles to three hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out eight batters and issuing two walks. Aaron Vanderwest suffered the loss for Kent City, pitching a complete game and allowing three runs on four hits, with 11 strikeouts and four walks.

Ben Mellema and Paxton Borgman contributed one RBI each for Fremont. Luke Langley led the team with a perfect 2-for-2 performance at the plate. Additionally, Ben Mellema and Deagan Klimek showcased their speed on the bases, each stealing multiple bases. Overall, Fremont stole five bases during the game.

Looking ahead, Fremont will host the Whitehall in their next tournament game on Saturday.
