Fremont Varsity Baseball Fall Short Despite Out-Hitting Manistee
Despite collecting four hits compared to Manistee's three, the Packers suffered an 8-4 defeat on Tuesday. Deagan Klimek, Blake Zerlaut, Seth Zerlaut, and Paxton Borgman each contributed one hit for the Fremont Varsity Packers.
Owen Vanderstelt took the mound as the starting pitcher for Fremont conceding two hits and seven runs (four earned) across two innings, striking out one batter and issuing two walks.
Blake Zerlaut made significant contributions from the heart of the lineup, leading the Packers with two runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 1-for-2 on the day.
Looking ahead, the Fremont Packers will face the Kent City Eagles in their next game on Saturday.
