Fremont Varsity Packers Fall to Oakridge despite strong offense. 

 

Bats were blistered on Wednesday, but Fremont Varsity Packers couldn't quite get the job done against Oakridge and lost 13-11.

 

In the first inning, Fremont Varsity Packers got their offense started.  Brendon Maka drove in two when Maka doubled.

 

Oakridge pulled away for good with ten runs in the third inning.  In the third Ethan Jozsa singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run, Caleb Osinski drew a walk, scoring one run, Corey Vanderputle singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run, Michael Baden's wild pitch allowed one run to score for Oakridge, Matt Danicek singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs, Evan Miller singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Brody Jennings singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, and Jozsa singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

 

Adrian LaNore led things off on the hill for Oakridge. The bulldog lasted one and one-third innings, allowing four hits and six runs.

 

Baden toed the rubber for Fremont Varsity Packers. The pitcher allowed six hits and eight runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two.  Maka threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen.

 

Fremont Varsity Packers socked one home run on the day. Logan Nelson had a four bagger in the third inning.

 

Fremont Varsity Packers totaled seven hits.  Nelson, Joe Delong, and Maka each managed multiple hits for Fremont Varsity Packers.  Maka, Delong, and Nelson each managed two hits to lead Fremont Varsity Packers.  Fremont Varsity Packers stole 11 bases during the game as three players stole more than one. Delong led the way with three.

 

Oakridge racked up 11 hits in the game.  Vanderputle, Jozsa, and Miller all managed multiple hits for Oakridge.  Vanderputle led Oakridge with four hits in four at bats.  Oakridge didn't commit a single error in the field. Jennings had  four chances in the field, the most on the team.
