JV Volleyball Packer Ladies traveled to Lakeview for an Invitational.   Packer Ladies faced off with Montabella at 8am and beat them in 2 sets, 25/15, 25/11.  The team played again at 12:30 but after a long break, Central Montcalm defeated the Packers in 3 sets, 25/20, 23/25 and 11//15, the loss knocked the Packers into the lower bracket of play.  Disappointment spread throughout the team so a midday team meeting and a change in shirt colors set the Packers up for a long, winning afternoon.  The ladies faced off Belding at 2:30 and defeated them in 2 sets, 25/20 and 25/16.  At 3:30 they battled with Coleman and also won the match in 2 sets with scores of 26/24 and 25/17.  At 4;00 they met up with Central Montcalm again but this time they brought the determination to win and won the match in 2 sets, 25/20 and 25/10.  At 5pm they moved into the playoff game where they met up with the undefeated North Point Christian team.  Packers battled hard and took the match in 2 sets with scores of 25/21 and 27/25.  Beating the undefeated NPC team caused a second match between the Packers and NPC at 6pm.  The Packers gave all they could until the end but unfortunately that game ended in defeat for the Packers with scores of 22/25, and 20/25 resulting in a second place overall for the day.  Leading the Packers in attacks and tips for the day were Ivy Heft with 35 , Hallie Snyder with 20, Cecelia Crisman with 20 and Kate Mellema 11.  Top servers for the day included  Ashe VandenBerg with 41, Hallie Snyder with 32, Grace Evans with 25, Ivy Heft with 23 and Cecelia Crisman with 22.  The Packers travel to Manistee on Tuesday September 12 for the second conference game match up.
