The Fremont Varsity Volleyball team traveled to Hesperia for their annual Lori Vargas Volley Against Violence volleyball tournament today.  The Pack play tough during pool play defeating Reed City and Onekema while ending in a tie with Cedar Springs.  This earned the Packers the second seed in the gold bracket.

During bracket play, the Packers really came alive defeating a scrapy Grant team in 2 straight sets, earning them a spot in the final matchup with host Hesperia.  The Pack faced some of the toughest serves of the day from the host school, losing the first set 22 - 25.  But the Pack rallied and played some scrappy volleyball of their own, downing the panthers 25 - 15.  In the third set, the Pack never trailed and won the championship 15 - 7.

On the day, Ace leaders included Carle Bruggema with 18, while Kendall Barnhart added 10.  Attack leaders were Sage Vandenberg with 32 and Barnhart with 22.  Bruggema tallied 59 assists.

Defensively, the Pack had 112 digs during the tournament.  Baylah Parker led with 48 while Kenzie Gugins added 31 digs.  Block leaders included Vandenberg with 11 and Bruggema with 8.

Congratulations to Baylah Parker and Carle Bruggema for being selected to the all tournament team chosen by the officials.

The Pack face Oakridge for their final conference matchup of the season on Tuesday.  Go Pack!
