Fremont traveled to Muskegon Catholic Central for the first match of the season on Wednesday evening. The Packers got out to an early lead on a goal by Mia Clemence. Muskegon Catholic responded before half with a goal by Sara Albanese. The match was tied 1-1 at the half. The Crusaders added their second goal just 10 minutes into the second half when McKenna Gentry netted a set play. That goal stood as the game-winner as the Packers had opportunities to tie it up but simply came up short. Muskegon Catholic Central outshot Fremont 12-6. Fremont keeper Macy Powers ended with 6 saves and Jessie Petry added 4 of her own for the Packers while Claire LaVigne made 5 saves for the Crusaders. Fremont falls to 0-1 while the Crusaders are 1-0.
