The Packers of Fremont traveled up to Ludington for the first round of district play Thursday evening. Ludington's Colby Peplinski got the home team on the board first just 4 minutes into the match. Fremont's Marcus Klimek finished a ball from David Wachter to knot the game at 1-1 with 20 minutes remaining in the first half. From that point on the Orioles dominated the contest. Kyle Wendt scored two goals in the last 8 minutes of the first half making it 3-1 at the half. Bruce Thompson added another goal in the second and Noah King finished the last goal for the Orioles. Ludington outshot Fremont 18-7. Fremont's Joe Kortge made 13 saves in net and Ludington's Tiler Marrison made 6 saves. Fremont ends the season 14-2-2 and Ludington moves to 11-4-2. Ludington will play Spring Lake in the district semifinals on Tuesday 10/20.
