2019 Portage Invitational - Great weather, great footing.

The girls had a solid race finishing 29th of 44 teams with 754 points.  We got out a little slow which can be a problem in a race this big, as the course gets really crowded and it is hard to pass.  The girls worked hard to move up and did improve their positions throughout the race.  Morgon Best (So) moved up well in the middle part of the race, faltered slightly but then recovered and finished strong to lead the team in with a Pr of 21:16.  Leah Converse (Jr) ran a steady race to record her best time of the season - 21:27.  Taava Johnson had a great finish stretch run to run her Pr for 21:35.  Erin Norton (Jr) continues her strong season with a SR 21:45.  Annika Tuls (Sr) and Alyssa Gustman (Sr) also ran SR's at 22:11 and 24:59.  Lauren Boerger (Sr)  continues with steady improvement running a PR 22:53.  We didn't have quite the team finish that we wanted, but I was proud of how the girls worked to move up through the crowd and their strong finishes.
