Cougar Falcon Invite

We had a great day at the cougar, falcon invitational. There was no wind today, but it did get hot. Due to construction this meeting was held at South Christian last year. With the remodel finished, we were back at the course on Calvin, but the course was different than it has been in the past. It was still a pretty flat course that ran fast. The boys finished fourth with 122 points. We had lots of season records and personal records on the day. Seniors Carter Sherman, and Cole Lowery both earned medals. Carter placed fifth and Cole placed 20th. Carter ran a really smart race putting himself in the lead pack early, and then moving up in the second half of the race.  Senior, Blake Taylor, and juniors Issac Romero and Chase Lowery also placed in the top 50 to round out our top five.  Sophomore, Mossen Green also placed in the top 50. Brandon Rasmussen, Senior, got his first opportunity to run varsity in a big meet, and took advantage of it running a personal record.
We had two boys run in the freshman race and they both performed very well, scoring big personal records. Max Taylor placed 20th to earn a medal, and his time was fast enough to earn him a spot on the varsity squad for our next race. Jacob Christoffersen placed 38th. They both Pr’d by 25 to 30 seconds.
The girls kept a good day going placing fifth with 148 points. They also turned in a bunch of personal and season records.  Junior, Linnea Paige finished eighth to earn a medal.  Senior Rachel Maddox, sophomore, Kira Manchip and Junior Joel Patten all finished in the top 40 to give us a decent scoring punch. Ava Krohn rounded out our top 5 in 51. Rachel, Kira, and Ava all scored personal records. Joelle had her fastest time of the season. Jailyn Saum (so) Ran a PR to finish 56. While Junior Rocquel Richards had her best time of the season in 59th.
We had three girls run in the junior varsity race. Senior Riley Chase ran her best time of the season placing 24th to earn a medal. Sophomores Alayna Bukala And Maddi Dunbar also ran personal records placing 54th and 65th. It was a great day for the team.
