WMC XC Lakes Jamboree 1 at Montague

Low 60s some wind

The girls ran a gritty race to kick off their Conference season and place 2^nd of 7 with Ludington winning.

Looking at the race on paper on Monday, we thought we were going to be in a very tough battle for 3^rd place with Manistee and Montague.  We talked about running for position and trying to break up or get ahead of their packs during the race to come out ahead.  The girls did just that and ended up taking 2nd place.   Linnea Paige (So) led the way in 4^th place.  She ran a good race, and despite out kicked in the last 100 she had one of the best finishes I have seen her turn in.  Joelle Patten (So) continues to improve each meet and finished in the top 15.  Elise Pfeiffer (Sr), Rachel Maddox (Jr), and Kira Manchip (Fr) rounded out our top 5.  Kira Manchip and Rocquel Richards (So) had a great battle over the last 100.  Olivia Stroven (Jr) also turned in a Pr.

The boys new if they ran well they would be in the hunt to win the meet and every guy recorded a PR or SR to beat Ludington by 20 points.  Sean Pettis won (Sr) the meet, with Carter Sherman (Jr), Issac Romero (So), and Chase Lowery (So) all finishing in the top 10.  Cole Lowery rounded out our top 5 placing 14^th.  Mossen Green (Fr), Evan Christoffersen (Fr), and Andy Krapp (Fr) all recorded Prs.
