2023 Hill and Bale Invitational

Mid to uppper 60s and calm

The girls varsity started off the day with some great individual performances.  The team placed 6th with 103 points.  Fruitport won with 50 points.  Sophomore Linnea Paige put herself in the lead pack early and continued to run tough as the pack split up to run a SR (season record), place 4th, and run over a minute faster than she did last year.  Joelle Patten (so) also got out well and ran a complete race to record an improvement of over 2 minutes compared to last year.  Elise Pfeiffer (Sr) 4 minutes, Rachel Maddox (Jr) 3 minutes, and Rocquel Richards (So) 2 minutes recorded those improvements over their race at the Hill and Bale last year.  Kira Manchip used her hurdling skills to run a 3 minute season Pr.  In the Girls JV race both Liv Stroven (jr) and Jessie Kendziorski ran Prs.

The boys placed 2nd to Allendale with 66 points.  Sean Pettis (Sr) took the lead at the 1000 and never looked back, running a very strong 16:35 for the win.  Carter Sherman continues his strong start to the season placing 6th  with a season record.  Issac Romero (So) was our other medalist, placing 13th.  Blake Taylor (Jr) had a solid race coming back from a sore leg with a conservative start.  Cole Lowery (Jr) and Chase Lower (So) both ran a season record, with Freshman Mossen Green scoring a Pr in his first varsity invitational.  In the boys JV race Evan Christoffersen (Fr) had a break through race to place 2nd as he moved up well over the second half of the race.  Brandon Rasmussen (Jr) ran a season record.

A lot of people put in a lot of work to make this event a success.  My wife Trisha, Coach Hamilton and her family, Coach Wheater, our Maintenance staff, Athletic Department, Administrators, FFA program, Frau and The Captain, and parent and community volunteers, make this a great event.  We couldn't do it without them.

Thank you to everyone and I apololgize for anyone I may have missed.
