MSU Spartan Invitational
Mid to upper 80s and sunny.
We took 4 athletes who made the 500 club to the meet. Taava Johnson (sr), Gavin Schuler (sr), Brennan Schuler (sr), and Johnny Christensen (So).
Taava had a really good first mile and last 1000. She ran a season record of 22:12 to place 44th. The boys ran the best straight line of the field for the first 600. They probably ran 30 meters less than everyone else in that stretch, which put them right with the leaders. All three settled in and ran season records, Gavin 17:15, Brennan 17:29, Johnny 18:20.
All four had to deal with really hot conditions.
