Fremont traveled to Montague Friday night and were handed a tough 37-34 defeat by the Wildcats. The Packers trailed 10-6 after the first quarter, but held the hosts to only 3 points in the second quarter and took a 14-13 lead into the halftime locker room. Montague outscored Fremont 9-8 in the third, as the two teams entered the final quarter knotted at 22. Montague then outscored Fremont 15-12 to secure the win.

Mia Clemence led the Packers with 13 points and 9 rebounds. Jessica Bennett added 8 points and Lily VandenBerg had 6. Haylee Schwartz had 13 points for Montague, Addison Pranger had 8, and Ella King added 6. The Packers are now 3-7 overall, 1-3 in the WMC Lakes. Montague improved to 5-3 overall, 3-1 in the division. 

Coach Zerlaut -- "It was a really competitive game throughout. Both teams played extremely hard. I was proud of our girls and their effort tonight. In the end, they made one more shot from the field than we did and a couple extra free throws."
