Fremont hosted Sparta on Wednesday evening. The Spartans jumped out to an early 11-2 lead after the first quarter, which proved to be the real difference in the game. Sparta held a 28-11 lead at halftime, 39-20 after three quarters, and then a 15-10 advantage for Fremont in the fourth quarter set the 49-35 final score.

Fremont was led by Khaila Noordyk with 12 points and 9 rebounds Sparta was led by Andrea Peat's 18 points and Makayla  Hatchow's 16. Fremont falls to 1-6 overall, 0-2 in the WMC Lakes. Sparta improved to 2-3 on the season. 

Coach Zerlaut -- "Our effort and energy was greatly improved from our game last night. We also improved significantly in our battle with turnovers, only committing three in the second half, for a total of 16 on the game. The first quarter was the difference in the game. We had some good offensive possessions in the first quarter and got good shots but couldn't make a basket, settling for 2-6 from the free throw line for our only points in the quarter. Sparta made a late three in the quarter but otherwise we were really solid defensively, yet we trailed by 9 eight minutes into the game. We went 11-55 from the field (20%), while Sparta made 7 more field goals on 9 less shots (18-46, 39%)."
