The Packers went on the road to Sparta Monday night to face the Spartans in a non-league contest. Fremont jumped out of the gate well, holding a 13-5 lead at one point in the quarter, and finishing ahead 16-8 after one. Calla Miller had 9 of her 11 points in that opening quarter. The Sparta press wreaked havoc on the Packers in the second quarter, and Sparta outscored Fremont 21-11 to take a 29-27 lead into halftime. A very competitive and physical game continued in the second half, with Sparta leading 39-36 at the end of the third. They then outscored the Packers 13-10 in the final quarter to set the final score at 52-46.

The Packers turned the ball over 28 times, 18 in the second half, compared to Sparta's 20 overall, but only 7 in the second half. That made the difference, as the Spartans got 13 more shot attempts than Fremont in the second half and converted those into points. For the game, the Packers shot 13-44 (30%) from the field, while Sparta made 17-55 (31%). In addition to Miller's 10 points, Jessica Bennett had 10 points and Kaitlynn Bennett had 9 rebounds. 

The Packers travel to Chippewa Hills on Tuesday. They are now 4-11 overall, 4-8 in the CSAA Gold division.
