Both teams had big first halves scoring the ball in this game. Fremont led 16-11 after one quarter, and 32-30 at the half. Jaxi Long poured in 22 of the Lions' 30 points in the first half, hitting four 3-pointers and five 2-pointers in the half. In the second half, the scoring slowed down with Fremont leading 42-34 after three quarters. Newaygo outscored the Packers 10-8 in the final quarter to set the final score Packers 50 - Lions 44. Chloe Shriver and Avery Curnett combined defensively to hold Jaxi Long to two points in the second half. She finished with 24 points for the game, which matched Paige Vandenberg's 24 points for the Packers. Vandenberg hit 10 of 16 shots from the field, including one 3-pointer. She was also 3-5 from the free throw line, and recorded 12 rebounds and 5 blocked shots. Natalie Jamieson had 11 rebounds  and 3 assists. Fremont was only 6-17 from the free throw line on the game, while Newaygo was 8-13. 

The win improved Fremont's overall record to 5-3, 4-0 in conference play. The Packers play at home again on Friday, hosting Grant.
