Fremont 58 Grant 55

We were able to secure a hard fought win at Grant tonight 58-55.  We led 15-11 after the first quarter and caught fire in the second scoring 21 points and taking a 36-21 lead into halftime.  4 minutes into the 3rd quarter we still led by 15 but missed 5 straight free throws and Grant closed the gap down to 10, 44-34.  That would be the story for most of the 4th quarter as we continued to miss free throws giving Grant a chance to get back into the game and they hit big shot after big shot.  Our lead shrunk to 1 with 25 seconds to go, after a timeout Seth Scuitema stole a pass and scored giving Grant its first lead 55-54.  After a timeout with 22 seconds to go Lane Converse was fouled on the inbounds play and then Grant had a Technical Foul.  Converse hit 1 of 2 to tie it and Braiden McDonald hit both Technical shots to give us a 2 point lead.  After multipe inbound attemps and timeouts, Braiden McDonald was fouled with under 10 seconds to go, he made 1 of 2 to give us a 3 point lead.  Grant missed a few shots and got the rebound, called timeout with 0.5 seconds to go.  They missed the last shot attempt and we were able to escape with a hard fought victory in a tough place to play.  Braiden McDonald led us with 23 points and 8 rebounds.  Joshua Zerfas had 17 points, 6 steals and 5 assists.  Jordan McDonald had 8 points.  Seth Scuitema had 19 points and Orion Evans had 16 for Grant.  We are 8-2, 7-1.  It was our 7th win in a row.
