Fremont 65 Chippewa Hills 53

We were able to win our 5th straight game and 4th in 5 days against a fresh and motivated Chippewa Hills team.  You could really tell our kids legs were not there as everything we shot from the outside and many of our free throws were short.  I'm proud of our kids though, they continue to play with players out and just find a way to gut out wins.  We led 20-10 after the first quarter and 32-26 at halftime.  We took a slim lead into the 4th, 44-40 and Chippewa Hills even tied it up 47-47 at one point, but we were able to bear down defensively and outscored them 19-6 in the last 4 minutes.  Payton Mansfield, playing his first game in 10 days, gave us a huge boost off the bench with 11 points and 7 rebounds.  Braiden McDonald led us again with 23 points and 10 rebounds, Jordan McDonald had 13 points and 8 rebounds and Joshua Zerfas scored all 6 of his points in the last 4 mintues after the game was tied up to go with 7 assists and 6 steals.  We maintained sole possession of first place with a 5-1 league record and 6-2 overall.  We play at Reed City on Friday.
