BIG RAPIDS HIGH SCHOOL: 16
The Lady Packers Freshman team defeated the Big Rapids Cardinals on the road this afternoon 31-16. Leading scorers for the Pack included Katie Ackerman, Olivia Hansen and Taylor Waite with 6 points each, Kendall Barnhart and Victoria Ekkel with 5 each, Madi Andres with a bucket and Elise Pfeiffer had a free throw. The Pack out scored the Cardinals every quarter.
Defense was in top form for the Pack having 10 steals and forcing 14 Cardinal turnovers. Ekkel had 4 steals, Barnhart and Hansen each with 2, while Ackerman and Korianna Cook Hansen each with a steal. Rebounding played a key for the Pack with Waite having 5 boards, Hansen with 4, Barnhart with 3, and Andres, Ekkel, and Khloe Callison each with 2. The Pack improve to .500 on the season with a 5 - 5 record and host the Fruitport Trojans on Thursday.
